January Sleevers ❄️

Recommended Posts

I am 10 days out. Have had to go to hospital twice because of dehydration. I have been falling and blurred vision. Thank God I have 2 friends who have had the surgery,(1sleeve and 1 bypass). Yesterday I sat down with them yesterday and they helped me sooo much. They cooked a couple of meal to show me how much. They also walked me through recipes. They took me to trader Joe's and walked me through what I needed to do to keep me out of hospital. Thanks Tammy and Maria. This morning I got up and had Breakfast and I am not as weak. Yahoo!

As of this morning I am 30lbs. down. So happy!! I am glad to see (well, not glad) that others are having problems sipping the liquids and getting it all in. I know I am not getting all of my fluids. I am so afraid of gulping and getting sick. Tomorrow, I will be able to fully get in the Water, so can start water aerobics. I am happy for all of us!!

FINALLY I'm on full liquids and it has been really weird. I had some Soup and I had about three tablespoons and was full. My doctor suggested that since it takes our brain about 2-3 mins to register we are full to wait a min or two after a spoonful or so. I think it helped me figure out when I was done a lil better today. I'm super afraid to stretch out my stomach, Hope everyone is having a great week otherwise!

I went to my first support group meeting that is hosted at the surgery center where I had my surgery and it was great!! Like sitting in an actual room full of people from this site who are all in different stages of the process and had great feedback. I'm definitely planning to go again as it was similar but different than here. Just super encouraging!! Keep up the good work all us Losers! :-)

I'm 11 days post op and have lost 32 pounds since my pre op liquid diet. I'm having a stall on the scale, is it normal this soon? Also I'm so paranoid about stretching my new stomach! I'm on a puréed diet and I'm noticing that I don't get full as fast as I used to and it's making me so paranoid!

Today was my first day on pureed food and I was in heaven I had 1/4 of cream of wheat and a soft scrambled egg. I couldn't even eat it all, but it felt good to feel a little normal and not have a shake or smoothie, or soup! dinner was a pureed chicken leg which wasn't bad at all. If I can make it past these two weeks, then I can do anything! Lawd help me!

I'm stalling too, ok this is my theory for myself, since I was on a two week liquid diet, wouldn't that make my first post op week kinda like the the week stall? I hope, cuz i am trying not to get discouraged

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
