Any suggestions or tips for the liver shrinking diet. I will be on two shakes a day, one meal of lean meat veggie salad and one high Protein lean snack. Any shake recipes etc would be greatly appreciated. Anyone use powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury Protein?

Just follow the plan and it should work. I know mine did but I didn't get an option to eat anything it was all liquid for two weeks.

i tried a new shake recipe daily on my all liquid preop diet. recipes were found by googling bariatric Protein shakes. My favorite is:

Raspberry Dream

8-12 ozs Mootopia or fat free milk/almond/soy milk

1 scoop unjury vanilla Protein powder

1 tsp of seedless, fat free, raspberry preserves

1-2 tsp Torani raspberry sugar free Syrup

Delicious!!

Consider yourself lucky that you get to chew at least once a day.

I am stuck on day 2 of my pre-op liquid diet and I have had nothing but headaches. 72 grams of Protein intake which is great, but for some reason, nothing but headaches here..........which I can chew, even it is just an olive.

I start my 2 week diet on Jan 5..I have 4 Protein Shakes a day plus sf popsicles..jello..yogurt..low sodium soups/broth..and I get unlimited veggies. My surgeon says they added the veggies because patients missed the "chewing". I am going this week for my supplies

I was on a similar diet but only for one week. I used the unjury vanilla and chocolate splendor, I added PB2 to the chocolate one (yum!) and I used Premiere Protein vanilla and chocolate cut with 4oz of skim milk. Pre op they seemed to thick and sweet and even a few weeks post op I was cutting them with skim milk. Now I can drink them no problem with nothing added.

I had marinated some chicken breasts in light Italian dressing and grilled them up and then cut them into 3oz servings to have for my dinner with a salad. I could also have a piece of fruit if I wanted so some nights when I was hungry I had an apple.

So my pre op diet was not bad at all. I lost 9lbs so I was happy!! :)

Good luck on your journey!!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
