The first two days home where probably the worst days but after that everything started getting so much better! I pulled (took) my own JP drain out and felt automatically better! I hated that thing! Time flys after surgery! I can't believe it's been 6 weeks! It seems like it was all a weeks ago.

@@Pr33ty Heard - watch the dressings you put on your salad. They can be high in sugars. I'm an olive oil and basalmic vinegar gal, but I know not everyone is. Otherwise it sounds like you are doing fine. Are you walking or getting in any type of exercise?

In my pre-op diet, we are allowed vegetables for the first 5 days and that sure is helping. However Saturday and Sunday are only liquids...I have lost 9 pounds since Monday. You can drink chicken broth, sugar free Jello, caffeine free coffee or tea. The chicken broth helps fill you a little. Also how many grams of Protein vs. carbs are in the Protein shakes you are drinking. Mine are 35 grams of Protein and 4 carbs. I drank one yesterday with only 15 grams of protein and was hungry faster. Good luck.

I was required to lose 12 pounds on my 2 week preop and I ended up losing 22. My preop diet was 3 Protein shakes/day and unlimited green veggies (spinach, kale, lettuce, Brussels sprouts, green Beans, zucchini). I substituted one of the daily shakes with broth with added unflavored Protein powder for variety. SF popsicles were also allowed but I didn't really like them. And yes, my surgeon has turned someone away the day of surgery for not losing. It makes for a riskier surgery.

Don't starve your body it will only stall your weight loss. Read the labels on your Protein Shakes, some of them are actually loaded with carbs. Take your Vitamins and drink LOTS of water!

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
