Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters

I just found out my surgery will be in July (granted my pre-op testing goes okay) SOOOOOOOOO

Here's a thread for everyone getting banded in July 07!

Does anyone have any good ideas for a neat name we could call ourselves?

Congrats on the weight loss Jackie! Keep up the good work!

Now, I'm off to ride my bike!!

Congrats to you too Wragler. 28 lbs. Your doing fabulous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I spoke to my BF tonight and she has agreed to babysit my daughter over part of my trip to Palm Springs and then my brother has agreed to let his daughter stay at our house to babysit her for the rest of the week.

Our trip is from Oct 6-11, which is Saturday to Thurs. Oct. 6-8 is our Canadian Thanksgiving weekend, which my BF is going to cover. Then my niece can take over from Monday night to Thursday night.

Yippie!!!! I just have to confirm with my niece that she will do it, which I know she will.

Once that's done, I'm going to have to surprise my DH with the news. I was thinking of getting a printout of the hotel, and creating a gift certificate sort of thing, then putting it into a card to say I love him.

Any other suggestions? This will be our first trip away since our son was born in 1998.

Chimboree: 4 hours in a car anytime is enough to wipe me out, let alone being day 8 post-op! Take a break! BTW, were you happy with the reduction? Did it hurt more or less than the band?

I was SUPER happy w/it! I woke up in recovery smiling. I would do that again in a heartbeat. It hurt MUCH more than the band. I was out for 6 weeks. Just b/c you cannot, cannot, cannot lift anything. My doc did lipo under my armpits. To be honest, that hurt worse than my incisions.

Of course, you know me, I had surgery on a Monday and I was driving on Thursday. Bad move. I was okay until I had to turn into Wal-mart. That hurt like the dickens! I just can't sit still and recover like most normal people! LOL!

Hey Sunny!!! How are ya today?

Jackie, congrats on the awesome wt loss. Our groups is doing awesome!

Kathy, I am thrilled that you and your DH get to go away. I like the gift certificate idea.

Wrangler, congrats to you, too, w/the wt loss!!! And you go girl and work that bike!

I'm heading to bed. I'm exhausted from the day. Gnite everyone!!!:notagree

Chimboree: I think you and I are very alike, can't sit still!!!! Have to keep busy, and keep pushing ourselves regardless of advice. I have to admit, when I hit the energy wall on Tuesday while organizing my friends retirement party, it kind of scared me. I've never done that before. I've always had energy reserves. But do you think I'll learn from that experience... no way! LOL.

Thanks for the info on the reduction surgery. Who knows, maybe one day!

My niece said yes!!! I get to take my hubby with me to Palm Springs!!!

:whoo::whoo::whoo::whoo::whoo::whoo::whoo::whoo: Happy Dance!

Kathy, I'm sooo excited for you you and your DH to get away!!! See, things always work out, don't they. Love the gift certificate idea. He'll be so suprised.

jackie506, down 29 lbs, how great is that. So how many sizes down are you in pants/tops now.

Chim, sleepy good. You need the rest!!

Wrangler, at 28 lbs, wow, you guys are kicking butt and taking no names!!! Way to go.

Think I'm heading to bed now. Had a long day of cleaning, hopefully they'll come tomorrow for the appraisal, or else someone will pay!!!!!

G'nite all. Have a great night!!

Just popping on to see what's up. Wow, everyone is doing so well. I stepped on the scales this am and I am down 2 lbs from day before yesterday. I haven't lost a pound in so many years, it ain't even funny. I was a giddy as a teen. Come to think of it, that hasn't happened since a teen.

Hey, did I see something about a Lucky 7 cruise?

Hi Only4me!

We were banded on the same day by Dr. Geiss and we're both having the same fluid intake issues. I only had about 1 glass of juice mixed with water today in addition to 2.5 carnation instant breakfast shakes and 1 cup of soup. I feel like my pouch can't hold any more. I'm going to try to focus on the protein too.

I was wondering if you were on the same floor with me. There were about 4 or 5 lapband patients where I was. Let me know how you're doing.

Hi everybody,

I have been trying to post for the past 4 days, every time when I am done, the stupid internet goes down and failed to post anything...

Jeanie, I have tried to past the URL in the signature field but it keeps on giving me ( invalid file), I don't know really what is wrogn..

I went up the scale this morning, and found that I have lost 6 kgs. that's about 13 lbs. I don't know if this is enough I was band at the 21st.

If any one would like me to give them out the reciepe of the soups I am making just tell me, yesterday I had a half cup of squash soup. otherwise I am taking juice with skimed milk and most more that 2 liters of water....

Hi all. I went to the doc today and he removed the dressing. Ugly red scars. What can I put on them to make them look better?

Anyway, I have lost 8 lbs and I can move to soft/mushy food. I have 1/2 cup refried beans for lunch. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. I am a little sore from all my running around.

Lynette, glad to see you got computer working. When you get your yahoo messager working, IM at sunshine6855@yahoo.com if you want to chat.

Jeanie, so you are enjoying the bike ride. I wish I had a man to ride with. It would be fun. I love to ride.

Phyl, how's it going? I see you have another trip planned. I can't wait for the pics. I am moving to mushies too. This will be fun.[/quote]

I jumped the gun a little!!

We went to a Mexican restaurant tonight and I just quiety explained to the waitress that I'd had surgery and couldn't eat much so could I order off the chidren's menu. She said I could so I ordered a kids beef enchilada meal. It worked great. The beef was finely ground hambuger; I scraped the meat mixture out of the tortilla, which I then moved to another plate to avoid temptation. Then I mixed the meat with the refried beans and enchilada sauce, poured a little salsa on top and mixed it all up. I start mushies tomorrow, so I made it as runny as I could. Then I noticed that the now empty salsa bowl looked to be about 1/2 cup so I filled it up with my concotion and got a to go box for the rest... which turned out to be exactly another 1/2 cup! Two meals for $4.25 ..... and it was most enjoyable!!

:hungry:

Phyl, that sounds so yummy right now!! I'm looking forward to being able to be creative in restaurants as well.....yet here I sit, drinking my protein shake....lol

My DH calls me a cheap date now........lol

Hi all...

Well July is gone, but we're still postin' like crazy !!!! What a bond we have !!!

I'm doing great, feeling great, Starting to get hungry sometimes during the day. :hungry: Looking forward to my first fill....Aug 13th.

Just wanted to vent a bit about my treadmill nightmare....

DON'T EVER EVER EVER buy a treadmill made by Smooth/spirit fitness. I purchased mine (internet sale) 3 years ago. It started to act up on me just about 4 weeks ago. (such bad timing) To make my long horror story shorter.... they do not offer any service/repair !!!! When I called for help....they basically sent me a part ($260) and told me to fix it myself !!!

They insisted it was very easy (thank God my husband is handy) after he changed out the part...it still wouldn't work. I BEGGED for someone to come to my home. ($120) They came out today to change the motor. Guess what? it still doesn't work. (They didn't charge me the $120) Now they want me to take off the top console and send it to them for diagnosis and "possible" repair. They told me... they don't make this model anymore...and there are no parts for it !!! Can you believe this??? I am so disgusted...I'm throwing it out for trash and going to buy a new one tomorrow.

If you're thinking this was some cheap model...ha.... I paid around $1500. I can't remember the exact price.

I thought I did my homework...all the reviews online were great.

Buyer beware !!!! I'm going to a fitness STORE tomorrow....they already told me they do have in home service should I need it.

Thanks for listening.....hope this helps out anyone who might be thinking about buying a treadmill !!! :paranoid Snag
