Christmas dinner tonight here at our RV park. Going to try to upload pictures.

Phyl Great Pictures !!!!

Hello ladies, I want in the holiday challenge. I would like to be a level 3 please. My name is Jessica. I was banded 7/16. Please let me know what I need to do.

Hey Jessica - Weclome - Kathybad is in charge if this - just p.m. her with your weight & level # - Stop in an chat - this is a great group - -

My NSV for the week was to be able to button the buttons on my daughter's North Face winter jacket. Now she is a size 6, although the jacket is a L, but none the less, it was a huge NSV for me! I think she wants to give the jacket to me so I can buy her a new one--we'll have to see about that! I kinda think I should get to buy a new one. . .

Linda Great NSV It feels so good to be out of Plus sized

[. So I tried them on this morning…. Baggy!! Had to roll down the waist band. I’m mad that I waited too long, but I’ll be able to wear them for a while. DH has decorated my electric scooter and I’m wearing them in the “Golf Cart” Christmas parade this morning![/font]

This morning's weight..... 271.4

Phyl - GREAT NSV I know what you mean about waiting too long to retry on old clothes....

Congrats Phyll. Your pictures looked amazing. So I have decided that I am going to post my 4 month pics now.

Karri - Great Pic's you can really see the loss - you were like me with the big reduction of your tummy..

Lookin' good ladies! Here are my progress pics as of this morning ...

BlooEyez - You are young to begin with but you look even younger - Great Pic's

Janet I tell you, we are so alike. When I was looking at your pictures I told my BF that we were built a lot alike and are losing in about the same way. I carry almost all of my weight in my front tummy area. My arms are bigger than I would like, but I can live with them. I have always like my legs because they weren't huge, but very muscular. Everyone is looking FABULOUS. It is amazing at what a huge transformation can take place in such a short amount of time. I know we all get down on not losing quickly (GUILTY AS CHARGED!) but just look at how far we have come in 4-5 months.

Well I am in the middle of doing my christmas baking this weekend. I will not have time this week to get it done for next weekend, so my family gets week old gifts! Hopefully it will not be too much of a temptation. I know that since I am on Atkins that I can't have any. I will have a FEW on Thursday night before my fill on Friday so that I don't feel completely left out. I don't usually crave sweets, but I think that is because I have a Protein Bar everyday. Since I can't have the bar when I am doing Atkins I have been craving something sweet. So I bought some low carb/sugar free candy last night and did I pay for it. So 2 things that I can no longer eat: sugar free stuff that contains sugar alchols and milk/ice cream/pudding products. They wreak havoc with my system.

Well my Cookies are almost ready to come out of the oven so off I go.

Again you all look wonderful, and peaches you are right about the smiles. I know mine gets bigger as the chin gets smaller!

What inspiring photos from everyone. You all look fantastic... and deserve all of our compliments.

I love the NSV's people are sharing... but have to admit a stupid moment... what does NSV stand for?

Jessica, welcome to the Lucky 7s, glad to have you on board. I am managing the Holiday Challenge and now have added you. Good luck... when you meet this challenge, you'll be in Onederland!!!

I have to admit, I haven't been really "dieting" much the last 6 weeks or so, too stressed about my Dad. I know a few of you have asked me how he's doing. All I can say is not well. He is handling it all very well, with a strong faith in God, but it is really hard for me even thinking of my life without him in it.

Given this added stress to my already high stress life, I can tell you I LOVE MY BAND!!! In the past, I would handle my stress through food. (as we all probably do) I've noticed I do still turn to food, but my band stops me very quickly, so I can't keep eating. I have lost 10 lbs since the day I found out my Dad has cancer. In my pre-band life, that would have translated to a 20 lbs gain!!

Phyl, Distant, Jackie, Mango, Ribearty and Sunny - Remember to PM me your starting weight for the challenge.

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
