December 2014 Surgery

Recommended Posts

I had my surgery yesterday morning and I'm getting ready to go home. The pain isn't to bad, and I really don't have an appetite, but I'm making my self eat some of the broth and Jello.

My surgery was postponed until tomorrow. First there were 2 accidents and a train so I was late to the hospital by 30 minutes but the doc was running so behind, so they offered to let me be first tomorrow.

Sending up prayers for a successful surgery and speedy recovery TexasCurves! Mine went great, the pain is manageable, and I'm on broth and Jello till Thursday. Then I'm on the full liquid diet of cream Soups, crystal light, ect. Please keep us updated! Brokenangel84, I'm sorry you're having a ruff time, I'm also praying for your speedy recovery.

Hi there. After a six month journey to prepare, I'm scheduled for surgery on December 29th. I'll begin a 1200 calorie diet on 12/15 and a two day liquid diet on 12/27 (two days prior to surgery). How many years did weight loss top my resolution list? But this time will be different...my body will cooperate and I'll learn a new way of feeding and caring for it. I can't say I'm nervous, but I'm definitely excited. A new, healthy me in 2015. Sounds pretty wonderful.

My surgery is also December 29!!!!

My surgery is also December 29!!!!

I'm glad I have company. It looks like there are three of us for the 29th. I am so filled with emotions. It's like a roller coaster from one day to the next.

Well time is here!! I survived the two week liquid diet it wasn't as bad as I thought. Pretty scary as at times I was not that hungry. I think it's because my doctor allowed me to have vegetables and fruits. tomorrow is my surgery I'm excited and nervous all at the same time. I have to pack and have things ready. I asked for many positive thoughts and prayers sent my way as I go into surgery tomorrow December 18th. Thank you so much for all your support hope to see you in the post op forum.

RYNDAR do you have a pre-op diet? I'm starting to get really excited. I can't believe it's in less than 2 weeks.

Mommy- yes, i've been on the preop diet since December 1. My surgeon will only allow me to have Protein Shakes four times a day. From what I gather, he's pretty strict with the rules. So far it hasn't been too bad. 12 days to go. Crazy fast!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
