Anybody having surgery the 24th of Nov? What a countdown buddy?

Jacqbult, I am so sorry about your puppy. You must be so sad. *hugs*

Shadow, nice poetry girl! I LIKE it!

It would seem my stall is breaking:

12/7, 252.4

12/8, 252.2

12/9, 251

12/10, 250.4

12/11, 250

Yay! I was thinking my husband's postsurgery weight loss was nice and steady with no staying the same or going up, but I was wrong. I looked through his journal and he was doing the same thing I've been doing at 2 weeks out. There is hope! The scale will move in the right direction again! Press on, be of good courage!

It also helps that I got to eat mashed potatoes yesterday. I haven't figured out anything else to add now that I'm on pureeds. Any ideas?

I'm experiencing really bad dizziness when I stand up or when I've been standing for even a short period of time. Anyone else?

I stalled out on days 12-15 and then weighted 3 pounds less. But now this dizziness. I'm down 16lbs and I'm happy with that. When I stalled i increased my intake to about 900 cal. I wanted to tell my body I wasn't trying to starve it and we still could have food. I think that's the trick.

jacqbult, I'm so sorry! That's heartbreaking. {{hugs}}

I lost pretty fast at first (probably because I didn't have a pre-op diet), but slowed down this week and stalled for a couple of days. Protein is going down much better, but I can't seem to keep up with fluids!

Anyone feel like you're actually seeing a physical difference yet? Sometimes I think I do, sometimes not so much.

emsgirl114: Please talk to your doctor's office immediately. My husband had a "slow bleeder" and had to be taken by ambulance to the hospital one month after his surgery. He was so anemic he could hardly stand. You might not have that problem, of course, but you shouldn't be getting dizzy. Are you having shortness of breath, black poop or lacking energy?

R U on pureed yet. I pureed a turkey meatball with sauce and the ate that with melted cheese. I am not sure how much my "Tinkerbelly" will hold. I have been nauseous so it is hard to tell which is food or just the yucky feeling

What's the best time to weigh.. morning weight is different than afternoon weight. My home scale shows 197 lbs but at doctors it shows 202lbs... confused

jacqbult, I am on pureeds, but haven't tried actually pureeing (<--funny looking spelling?) anything yet. Your meatball idea sounds good. Have you tried anything else?

I made chick salad with mayo and refried Beans with melted cheese on it. Mashed potato's are good too.

I find that I weigh in the AM before I get in the shower. Every scale is different. I think the ones in the Drs office are always unkind. Plus you have clothes on and aren't "empty".

I finally had my surgery yesterday. I flew to Dallas yesterday morning and flew back home today. It hurts to swallow but I'm getting better at it. So glad to see my Nov 24th buddies are doing well.

I see my dr Tuesday. I hadn't thought I might be anemic. I feel a little better today. I am tired. Stools are fine (best they've ever been). My sleep is all whacky. I think anemia would actually make me faint actually. Hmmm. Thank u again

I have been feeling fine since surgery. Until today. Wham! Incredibly sharp pains in my right side. I doubled over at work and started crying. I called my doctor's office. They said it could be anything as simple as gas and Constipation. Or it could be a complication from surgery. Or, could be gallbladder. It would be horrible if it's gallbladder cuz instead of telling people I had sleeve surgery, I told them I had my gallbladder out!!!!

Anyway, I did take laxitives and some of the "pain" moved. I guess I'll know in a few hours if it was simply constipation!

Funny thing ~ I was more anxious about having to fib again than I was worried about my health!

Seems like it was just Constipation. I did have a gallstone last June. And, the pain was very similar. I'll have to keep an eye on it!

The rest of the weekend was fine.

Also, I'll send some recipes next week. I love to cook!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
