The saga of my tender port continues

OK, after I got back from Vegas I noticed that my port was tender and sore the next day. I just attributed it to all the activity over the weekend. But when I can't even roll over in bed without it hurting or a shirt brushes against it and it HURTS like a mo fo then it is time to see a doc. So I called Dr. Billy's office and asked them if I needed to come in or if this was something I should not be too concerned about. They just called me back and said to come in and see them tomorrow at 1p. So off to Billy I go.

They were saying something about it could be an infection going on. SIGH!!! When will this ever end????????????

Lisa, when I am there tomorrow I am gonna talk to him about YOU and YOUR WOUND. I am taking a picture of your wound with me so he can see what is going on. I am also gonna ask him about how much he would charge as well. SO NO EXCUSES NOW!!!

:) I'm sorry to hear about your port, Penni. For the whole year after my surgery, my port would get extremely sore if I wore jeans that were more binding or had to sit in a bended position for a long period of time. I was always quite afraid of too tight clothing or abdominal exercises. Interestingly, now that I've passed a certain weight and things have moved some, I don't have that pain anymore. (thankfully) So, hopefully, things will get better at some point. I found it rather worrisome too. Good luck at the docs!

BTW - you need to check your scale. There is NO way that you weight 247!!:D

Thanks for the compliment. LOL!!

Ditto! You girls are reading my mind! Penni you either have a bad set of scales or you hold your weight real good!

Good luck with your port.

Penni

Michelle: Not sure about the partying hard in Vegas excuse. I was tame actually. I could have stretched it when I was in the pool but I kinda doubt it.

Do you guys remember when I had this weird redness and tenderness around my port incision? Well guess what it is back. Look at this pic. I am so glad I am seeing Billy tomorrow maybe he can figure it out. Now the site is HOT and even more tender to the touch. SIGH!!

So Now what?????

Hopefully it is nothing more than all the stretching, lifting, etc. that you all did in the pool. Positive thoughts for you and YES, do discuss Lisa's issues with Dr. Billy. He sure sounds like a sweetheart.

I agree, I thought you weighed about what I did. No way do I believe you weigh 247 pounds. Keep up the good work.

Okay, Penni, wash the make-up off your belly and stop trying to compete with me cause I won, fair and square, and my port is grosser than yours.

But all kidding aside, if you're really going to show Billy my pic, tell him I have Blue Shield of California along with HPN through Plumbers & Pipefitters. Yes, it has a California name cuz my home office is in San Diego, but it only covers me in Nevada. Tell him my idea on getting the new port down low in my belly, see if he'd consider doing it all in once visit while jumping up and down on one foot, rubbing your sore port and patting your head.

I am really glad you have an appointment tomorrow. Could you possibly have been sensitive to the chlorine? Hopefully it will be over quickly. Again, my thoughts will be with you tomorrow. Won't be online much starting tomorrow as we will be out of town and I will not have access to a computer.

Penni,

That is a big cut on your little tummy. It's strange that it would be hot and sore. I've never heard of that after healing. I hope Dr. Billy fixes you right up. :)

Penni, I am so sorry to hear that you are having this problem again. I will keep you in my prayers, I hope it isn't anything too serious. The photo kinda looks like dejavu. Good luck tomorrow.

Too funny. Of course I will discuss all this with Billy. I will report back as soon as I know something.

I tried to rub off the makeup but John won't let me. He said you were getting way too much attention on the boards. LOL!!

Carol: not sensitive to Chlorine. If so I would have seen this right after Jamaica trip. NOTHING there.

Not sure what is causing this redness again. IT just pops up every so often. Billy was puzzled the last time it came up. So might just get some antibiotics and treat and see what happens. UGH!!

I'll be thinking of you... Glad your seeing your sweety doc. Hopefully it's simple, you might even wake up in the morning and its gone...

Penni, send me an e-mail at work when you get back from Billy's. I'm curious if he's gonna stick a needle in to collect a culture. I hope it's nothing serious. Hurry!
