My surgeon says to get 60g of protein. (although it's REALLY hard at this stage) But they said the more protein, the more you lose.

And maybe a call to your Dr.'s office/ nutritionist might be the next step. Maybe they can give some suggestions. 3 weeks seems like a long time with no loss!

I have 2 Premier Protein shakes a day so 60g min of protein. Then what ever little protein I can get from soft foods, cottage cheese, greek yogurt, beans, shrimp, or fish. But yes I am told the more protein you can get the better. There are sooooo many different kinds you have to keep trying until you find something that agrees with you. the protein supplement and fluids are crucial to your weight loss and health.

I'm with you. 5 weeks out and I have a few good days and a few bad days. I mostly feel like I need to sprawl out after I eat. There's the bad taste in my mouth so I've invested in mint gum. And I've never been an avid gum chewer. At first I was foaming and spitting up with everything I ate and drank.

I am six weeks out today. I was warned to not chew gum, but I drink lots of decaf peppermint tea that help BIG time. It also helps with my fluid intake.

Soo I'm being sent back to er now, my heart rate is 150 and I have a high bp now too, they think I might have another clot, this is getting real old ugh. Right before thanksgiving lol, so much for a happy ending. I hope they don't keep me.

So I had my 1 month visit today, everything went well :) They said I can start on solids now, just to take it easy and not all at once. I have been struggling with getting my protein in, so they said that is probably why I stalled and then gained 2 lbs, my body is holding on to whatever it can because I'm not giving it enough. Soo, I'm hoping that it will be easier to get protein now, it's got to be! Nutritionist said that I can't have BREAD, obviously, but I can have Naan or flat out hungry girl breads...so I'm looking fwd to making a little healthy pizza sometime soon! She also gave me two sample shakes of the premier protein, 30g in one...I'm hoping that one agrees with my picky pouch! Was also finally given the Zofran for my nausea, and then they sent me to the hospital to make sure my calf pain wasn't a blood clot...I'm home now, so it was all good :)

Also, had a not so good day yesterday :( I was just dizzy and nauseous all day, I only really wanted soup to eat, ended up fighting with my bf over that because he can't understand everything I'm going thru...then he dropped the bomb, I knew it was bound to happen...he told me he wishes I never had this surgery, he wishes that he talked me out of it the night before and he's so frustrated with me being so miserable and never feeling well and blablabla. It really stung to hear that :( he apologized later, but I'm still hurt!

. I was told that gum is fine but can cause gas and I chew extra that has sugar alcohol in it and I know others that chew gum also

So sorry, I can't believe you are going back to the ER. At this point I just want you to catch a break. Please let us know how you are doing. We are all wishing you a quick recovery.

Getting a blood transfusion :( and being kept. I knew something was off.

I got escorted right from my post op appointment. The surgeon doesn't kno how I was even walking. My levels are 3 and should be a 12. Blah I guess its not a bloodclot since I'm almost out of blood…

Geez, so sorry buddy. I had a blood transfusion with my second child and I tell you I felt so much better after. They'll keep you just to monitor you for a bit. If things settle, they'll send you home soon.

laugh.gif I'm 36 yrs old and had lap-band surgery on 6/11/03 at 242 and now weigh 230 -- I am taste those 220's. I'm married with 2 girls and have been wanting to lose weight for the last 15 years - well I have lost and gained and lost and gained...you know the routine. I love the NEW ME and can't wait to get my first fill on 8/13 as I have not much restriction now.

GOOD LUCK to everyone that has been banded or thinking to be banded or about to be banded. I don't regret this for one moment
