Slow loser in East, TX

Hello everyone. I was sleeved on 9/16/14. My hospital weight was 221. Today it's 205.8. I'm having a very hard time getting in all my fluids and proteins. Any newbies have any good ideas. My scale went UP once I began the puréed stage by 3 lbs. I've lost 2.4 of those 3. But man did it upset me. Feeling alone !!!

I had my surgery in May.

Getting all my Protein and Water is a daily challenge for me. I have the best luck on my protein when I have 6 meals a day. I guess it is more like 3 meals and 3 protein Snacks but it works.

I find a sugarfree popsicle makes a nice "water" treat in the evening but I am always carrying my water around me. I even stick a water bottle beside the bed so if I have to get up in the night, I can get an early start on tomorrow's water total. I do break the day in to 3 parts and try to get in 3 cups before 10, the next 2 cups by 4pm and at least 3 more before bedtime.

I am a slow loser too. I had my surgery 6/25 and I'm just about 30 lb down, though 40 lbs down from my highest weight. I have to make sure I get at least 4 glasses of liquids down before breakfast. (Not water. I hate water. I often drink decaf chai or plain tea.) I don't have as much trouble with protein, but I do recommend genepro powder as its tasteless and has a lot of protein and can be mixed with hot liquids without the fuss of other unflavored protein.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I'm just going to keep up with my fluid, protein and calorie intake and try to walk as much as possible. Surely it will begin to come off. I'm keeping the faith. ????

I'm concerned because yesterday I ate a whole can of Vienna sausages . Not quickly of course, but I ate all of them. Was that bad. I'm almost a month out. Have I already stretched it out. Very concerned :-/.

  • 2 weeks later...

I was sleeved 9/15 and am also losing slowly - 16 lbs to date. The scale hasn't moved for me in 3 weeks. Although my doc says I am where they expect me to be, I struggle with the "What's wrong with me?" thoughts. Sooner or later the scale has to start moving again. I'm eating 600-800 calories per day and doing ok getting 60g of protein in but only getting about 55-60 oz. of fluid in. Having a Premier Protein drink helps meet my goals. I'm having a hard time getting any vegetables/fruit in because I'm full after eating the protein. Each week should get better for us, so hang in there.
