October Surgery Date

  • Popular Post

Hi everyone!

Just came back from doctor's office and have a October 28th surgery date for Gastric Bypass. This is it, the high diving platform. Knees are trembling.

Anyone else in October? Let's keep in touch as we support each other. We have the pre-op diet and getting mentally ready for this.

LET'S DO IT!

Hey everybody!

Two days post-op this morning. And having some serious abdominal pain. The morphine pca pump is helping but then the morphine gives me a headache and makes me nauseous! Trying to ride out the storm until sunshine comes!!! Hope everyone else is doing well.

Hang in there!! Hope it gets better for you, soon!!

I felt a million times better after they got rid of the pain pump. It was making me dizzy, nauseated, and light headed. As soon as it was out of my system I immediately felt better and the liquid pain meds did an effective enough job to keep the pain at bay. I actually told my surgeon I wanted the pca gone because I think it was causing all those problems for me. I got it out half an hour later.

@@kimodell69 I actually live in Frederick, MD. I am having surgery at Fair Oaks because that's where my surgeon does his surgery. He's one of the best in the area and I wanted the best! It's worth the travel to make sure everything is done well.

How do you like Florida? I think I'd miss the seasons. Besides, I love snow! LOL

@@jasminebsn3 I have that same problem with percocet! I'm so glad they got rid of it for you and you're feeling better!!

Ugh, I sent in for my fmla, and my short term disability on the 6th and 9th respectively. It has been 10 days since I filed the forms with the surgeons office to approve my fmla through my job and my job has done nothing, Nothing to it at all. Without those forms I can't get approved for my short term disability. I'm about to go up there and raise he'll since they were getting snippy with me about filing the forms in the first place.

Wow...you go give them a piece of your mind girl!!

After my morphine pump ended, I felt like I had been run over by a train. And with the liquid lortab, I feel pretty good for a couple hours then I fade and feel crappy.

Yep. The lortab is okay but damn I miss that magic morphine button.

I everyone, I have not dropped of the face of the the earth.

Just have been super busy volunteering at the Hospital Ladies Board yearly Rummage sale. It is a huge deal and 100,000s of dollars are raised. We expect 20,000 from my department alone. We have the designer goods and my on my I am exhausted every night.

Today was ruff I had a Premier vanilla shake for lunch and it did not agree with me. Guess who had to use a port a potty 5 times. Fortunately only volunteers had used it and it was very clean but still, yuck. There's like 20 potties I had to play guess what's behind the door for a good one. I wish I could have gone home but I wouldn't have made it. Sorry for the TMI but has anyone had this issue with these shakes. I am now worried sick I picked up a stomach virus. What if I don't get better fast enough and my surgery is cancelled. Jeez, why is this happening?

Last week I went to Cheesecake Factory (last meal befor 2 week diet) and had something that caused some of the worst heartburn I have had in years. Had to call the doctor who placed me pronto on Protonix ( a stronger Prilosec like med). Is there a black cloud over me?

After tomorrow, I am only going out of the house for the absolute essential stuff. HIBERNATION

Surgery went well. Had to stay in the recovery room for a long time until my room was ready. Pain is not bad at all. The dry mouth is worse. Luckily I followed the suggestions others posted and brought dry mouth rinse .

Beni, my husband and I have been using Premier Protein for about two years and never had that happen. Hope it was a freak thing and your not getting sick.

Hey, I'm on my third day of liquid diet; 5 protein shakes per day and that is IT.

That hasn't been a problem with hunger, I'm staying full, but I have been getting these weird headaches. It's like my brain is swelling too big for my skull to contain. Like a tightening band around my head and lots of pressure. I thought it might be too much protein (I got 184 g yesterday and had to back off on my last shake), but after sleeping all night and then having my first shake, I'm getting my headache back. I will cut down today to around 90g just to see if it relieves anything.

Also, my jaw keeps popping like it wants to come come out of joint. These are the only problems, but they are really bothersome. Is anyone else having these issues?
