I can tell you that I work for a hospital and with out insurance and hospital benefits we are able to have bariatric surgery for pretty much free so I work with TONS of people that have had it done. I have never noticed hairloss on any of them. They did say that they noticed it on themselves but other people don't really notice. So that's kinda positive right???

I should have added that although I noticed my hair loss when brushing and washing my hair, no one else, including my hairdresser has been able to see it. And I can't really tell when I look at my hair, it was just horrifying to see that much fall out every time I touched it. But, like I said it's gotten much better over the past two weeks.

I will be 6 months Post Op next week. My hair started falling out at 3 months and is just now starting to slow down a little. I've probably lost 1/2 of my hair. Thankfully I have a ton of hair. I haven't taken anything to help it.

I am one of the fortunate few who has not had significant hair loss. However, I did have some pretty rough skin and fingernails from months three through six. I did keep up with 80 grams of Protein, 80 ounces of Water and approximately 800 calories. That's been hard to balance, but hadpaid off. My bariatric physician did not recommend Biotin, but I bought some at Walgreens and take 20,000 mcg per day. Has it helped? I don't know, but I wouldn't want a do-over without it.
