Hello there! I was sleeved sept 1 2014.. It's been a crazy exciting ride so far!! Down 80 lbs now size 24 to size 10 feeling fabulous but worried I am starting to want my old eating habits back!! chocolate has creeped its way back in and I can't seem to find mojo to say no!!!

I have not gained any weight but the scale isn't moving

I think I'm going back to basics ... Aka detox for the chocolate addict!!!!

I have support but feel very alone at times, like the people who were excited for me before are now very awkward around me and it's always the elephant in the room. You don't want to be excited about your next goal because at 80 lbs people are sick of it!

Anyone having this issue

I can sympathise with that keepgoing2014. I've been doing well, but this week has been the first weigh-in since surgery when my weight has gone up rather than down. Only 1.5lb in two weeks but it has been a wake-up call. I am getting exercise ie going to the gym and plenty of walking, and I have a feeling that I have been giving myself 'permission' to include a treat too many as a reward. My core diet is healthy and quantities are still small, but I've got into the habit of adding in a few mint candies after meals. I need to get a grip and make sure it's only one or two. I'm not cutting them out altogether because if I deny myself things then I tend to obsess about them and that's not healthy either.

However I have bought myself a few new summer clothes and would hate to find they were getting tight, so that will be an incentive to cut back again.

As to support - I have never discussed my weight loss with anyone anyway. Only a couple of close friends knew I had surgery and they don't ask me about it. Other people have started to notice that I've lost weight and ask me if it's on purpose. I just say yes, I'm keen to get healthy again and change the subject. Just not interested in boring diet talk, and neither are they!

Let's hope we both stay motivated. We've done so well so far, so let's not start sliding back Into old habits! Good luck.

It's been a while since I've logged on and posted but I must say that if I had this decision to make all over again.... I would! My surgery date is September 26,2014 I have lost 60lbs exactly since then! I am healthy more energetic.... Let's just say "I'm feelin myself" lol!! And with God, ALL things are possible!

I was sleeved on 9/16 and today is the first day I wasn't nearly bed ridden with fatigue. Not that I am ready to run a marathon or anything, but I actually did two loads of laundry today ! My fatigue was probably worse than most because I was on a constant dose of Benadryl since Friday because I had an allergic reaction to the glue they used to close the incisions. The rash spread to most of my upper abdomen, including my breasts and I was in total agony. I finally talked them into prescribing me prednisone and that had helped greatly so I didn't need to take the Benadryl today (still itchy though, using cortisone cream for that).

They said I was allergic to surgical glue as well. The itchy is horrible. The red around the incisions in two spots are bigger around than my palm and whelped up. Hard for me to believe this is an allergy.

Need change- I was told that allergic reactions to the glue are very common. Trust me-find out the type of glue they used and write it down because a reaction will happen again! What I did not mention is that I had my varicose veins removed a couple years ago and they did each leg several weeks apart and used surgical glue to close all the incisions. Well, after they did the first leg, I had no issues, but for the second leg, each incision swelled up (red and crazy itchy). I forgot that happened when I had my sleeve done, and sure enough, my belly was a hot scratchy mess! The good news is that it all cleared up 100% and I don't even have any scars (I have scars on my legs where I had the reaction!). I hope you heal soon!

How long does it take to heal up. I had my sleeve done on June 3...please tell me the glue falls off soon and how long to heal (not itch) after that?

I think it took about 2 weeks or so for me. You seem to be almost 10 days out and you are still dealing with an allergic reaction ?

You could soak the areas in a little olive or cocoanut oil to help the glue dissolve (I used organic cocoanut oil) but I have a sad face for you since they didn't give you prednisone or something to beat the allergy quicker (yes, prednisone may slow weight loss a tad temporarily, but I took it and here I am today, 9 moths later and down 122lbs).

I am down almost 40# since sleeved 9/23. I have struggled with slow loss but do drink a low carbonated beer and have been pretty heavy handed with summer fruit. I have 20 to lose. I will get there, just need to get refocused again. I feel great though. My knees are quite grateful!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
