Nervous

My sleeve was schedule for 8/29 but my doctor already had a procedure schedule and his office got it mixed up. So mine was pushed back to 9/5. As the days get closer I'm getting nervous and the fact that I have no one to go with me to the hospital doesn't make it any easier. Right about now I'm needing some words of encouragement

Jaz it will go smoothly and hopefully you won't have to be in for more than a day or two. Congratulations on taking this step.

Sometimes talking about it makes it easier. Maybe we can be email buddies to make the time go by better.

It's normal to have mixed emotions. ..my first surgery date was screwed up had to wait another 2 wks..it was an emotional roller coaster! A friend had bypass 7 yrs ago she kept in touch with me..brought a lot of memories back for her...stay in touch here...it's been a huge boost for me here to! You'll learn a lot. I'm 7 wks post...it's challenging but doable! Your almost there!! :)

I didn't want anyone with me in the hospital. I didn't want to make small talk and I didn't want people telling me I would be fine over and over. I wanted to go in my zone and just do this thing already. You CAN do this on your own, you CAN do hard things. Be brave, be strong, don't look back.

Jaz... I was scheduled to have my surgery at 8am... Got to the hospital at 5am as they told me... They prepped me and took me to the holding area at 7:30... At 8:30 the two nurses said we have some bad news... I thought I was going to die... Words I just couldn't digest .. Then she says there was a mix up and the surgeon does not come in until 1... I didn't want to get upset but I thought about leaving ... Thinking maybe this was not meant to be ... However I had gone through this whole journey... I was not giving up.

Stay focused... You can do it.

I went through it by myself in Mexico, and it was really not bad at all. I think the nurses take extra care of patients who don't have anybody with them. I got to rest as much as I wanted, and I didn't have to negotiate about the tv channels.

I wish you the best. I hope you have an easy surgery and a quick recovery.

So today was the day?? How are you doing?

Hope your surgery went well!

Yea the hick ups were hurting earlier but have slowly gone away and now I'm passing gas but it's part of the process and my doctor says I'm going home today yay so I'm excited about that.
