That's great! And congrats on your recent weight loss. Question - how much did you loose in the first two years? I was banded one year ago, and I don't think I've made it to the green zone yet.

tifme, I think that's pretty normal. I just had my first fill yesterday, but my surgeon has been telling me since before my surgery that it (usually) takes three or four fills before people feel restriction.

Every one is different and each surgeon has their own protocol for frequency and amount of fills. Mine is of the small frequent fills school of thought and it took me several to get there. But I felt a little more each time and, for me, the gradual approach worked really well. I just had to go back for a tiny unfill. I could just tell that I was too tight and the slippery slope of slider foods was before me if I didn't get a little taken out. I have theories but don't really know why it was green then red zone for me -- I had to take a little medication and that could have done it, sinus issues and allergies at this time of year could have contributed, or good old hormones. Doesn't really matter why -- just so good to be able to really pay attention. Looking back I'm glad for the time it took because of all the behavior modification I required. Small bites and putting the fork down in-between did not exactly come naturally to me, lol.

I was banded on July 3 and didn't have my first fill till August 20 because of my travel schedule. I went in and the doctor said I was losing fast and wanted me not to get a fill. I was like "what I paid for this thing to restrict" and he said you are losing with just the band being on without Fluid. Anyone else go thru this?

I just had my 3rd fill to 7 cc. I feel some restriction but I definitely have not reached my green zone yet. I had my surgery 7/16. I guess from reading all these posts it just does take time but I'm kinda getting impatient :)

First of all... major CONGRATS on hitting your green zone! That's super awesome!

I was banded Dec. 2012 and I have not hit mine yet. I'm down 51 pounds, which is great, but I have so much more to go. I met with the nurse practitioner and finally feel like I have someone in my corner. I'm learning how much stress plays my band's tightness or looseness. It's amazing how stress affects it. I now go monthly to see her and the nutritionist. Over the past 2 years, I've either been too loose or too tight.

I've had 5 fills/unfills and now have 4.5cc in my band and I'm just about there!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
