Day 7 and sick to my stomach

Recommended Posts

I woke up with nausea. All loss of hunger is gone. I drank a Protein Shake this morning and I had to do everything in my power not to throw up. Has anyone else had this issue. Dr office suggested pepto and some pedialite

Today is day 8 for me and yes I have had some nausea as well. I had to get a refill on my nausea medicine but today I have not had it once. I take medications that I have to crush now and I think that might have something to do with it but Monday I woke up and ran to my medicine and melted that nausea pill under my tongue fast. I thought I was going to hurl but I didn't!! I think our bodies are just trying to get used to all the changes. I felt great today so far! Good luck!

Kpurdy what is your pain level currently? I still get gas and a stinging sensation over my suture. I can never seem to get comfortable. I went back to work. I work in a dental office and spend a portion of my time walking in circles. Everyone keeps saying walk walk walk.

Day 9. I couldn't have returned to work yet. Bowels getting use to the changes. Feeling good but realize I am still post op.

I am POD #11 and I am still feeling overwhelming nausea at points. I don't take the nausea meds because they make me tired and I have far too much to do in my day to be able to sleep like it makes me. I can't take in Protein shakes more than that medicine cup full and then a Water or crystal light chaser. My doctor says its because Im not taking the meds but does that mean we have to take them the rest of our lives? I had the surgery to get away from meds.

I found Protein Shots at walgreens this weekend! 30gr in two gulps. What I game changer. I have more energy. I can focus on Water intake instead of figuring out how to get enough Protein to keep my eyes open!

Its day 13 for me and I feel great. Starting to itch a lot in my stomach from healing and yes I get these little zings over my scars too. I was doing laundry this weekend and leaned over the washer to get the last few things from the bottom and BAM serious pain over one of my incisions, I just knew I busted it open but thank God I didn't. I think we just need to remember we had surgery and are not gonna heal over night! I need to find those Protein shots!! I worry about the Protein too. I started walking 25 minutes a day yesterday again like I was doing in post op. I am still weak and dang!! I am itching!!

Yea I just bought them over the weekend and were on sale 1.50 each. But my fiancé found them in bulk on Amazon. Day 13 and I have the itchies too. When did your steri strips come off? When I sit in the car for too long I get a cramp over my port site area. My 2 week post op is tomorrow very anxious.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
