Started my liquid diet today. It's ok so far. I know now that I can't have chicken broth for Breakfast. Not enough substance. I'll stick to my shakes early in the morning.

So ive been on my Pre op diet for like 4 weeks. I had gained some weight and needed to get back down so I did Atkins induction. Today I wake up week as hell. Turns out I might have a Iron deficiency meaning my primary care doc will tell surgeon and I may not be able to have surgery if my numbers are too low or don't bounce back by time my clearance date which is Monday next week. I hope everything is OK. Has anyone experienced low iron and has it impacted your surgery.

I'm scheduled for my Band to Sleeve revision on October 3rd!! Super excited!! The ultrasound also showed that my gallbladder is full of stones so that is coming out at the same time. I'm a little apprehensive of the extensiveness of all the procedures, but am hopeful that everything will go ok and that I'll heal quickly. I have a baby that will be turning one a week after my surgery....so I feel like I can't be down for too long. I will take as long off of work as the short-term disability allows me to, but try to take it easy at home. Good luck October Sleevers!

Well now I'm officially thirty days away. Thinking about all of us October sleevers and I know we can do this! We've all been on our journeys that brought us to this point, but we have our whole lives ahead of us, and we'll be living those lives healthier and thinner. Great to have everyone on here sharing and caring. Some of you are coming up very soon. I'm thinking about you!

OMG ! I read a post here last night in regards to a surgeon putting off surgery until she quit smoking, he wanted her off for 6months. I have not had a "cig" in over 10 yrs and recently (3wks ago) started doing the electronic ones-stopped my stress eating. What a dummy ! When I called my dr office about it. They said they require totally nic free for 3months, but they would talk to him. Thing is he's on vc and not available til Sept 30. 2 days before surgery! Shoot I don't even do it that much and its only 6mg. My pre ops are tomorrow and I start my liquid diet, with surgery scheduled for Oct 1st. I don't know what I'd do if it gets cancelled or postponed .

Sometimes it just doesn't pay to have questions or be honest. :((

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
