Hi. I had sleeve surgery Aug 11. I came home the 12th around 8pm. I have had alot of pain and still on pain meds. I have been briefly walking around the house and making sure I get plenty of rest. Of course, I am still on the liguid diet with Protein Shakes. I can't seem to get enough Water down though. I am feeling fatigued. I normally heal faster than this. I am scheduled for a post-op appointment on the 19th and go back to work on the 20th. I don't want to push myself but I am getting frustrated because of the slow progress. I am a single mother of two teens. They have been a great help. But I am feeling overwhelmed because I don't have enough energy to even drink. Any tips for getting enough water. My doctor wants me to drink two quarts a day plus the other liquds.Feeling fatigued and grumpy. Lol

My tip to Water is to keep a water bottle in your hand all the time. Take little sips. Before you know it you will be through it! Many can't stand the taste of plan water, feel free to add flavor with any of the flavor drops.

I'm with you on struggling to get enough Protein and liquids. It seems like I can hit one or the other but not both. My paperwork said not to get discouraged if this happened.

I freeze a big sports bottle of Crystal Light, carry it with me and sip throughout the day.

You will struggle. I'm 3 months out and still do. That's a guide but I don't know many who could actually reach it quickly and at the OH conference found out lots who struggle years out still trying to get enough in. Just try, but don't stress.

I'm not weight lifting until I know I can get the Protein in to repair muscles. I think that's when you need to be more concerned.

6 days post-op.... hang in there. hoping for the best for you. I've heard some people set their timer on their smartphones to go off every 15 minutes to remind them to drink an ounce of Water....

Thanks so much for the responses. I started back to work today and it was a challenge for sure. I think I got a little dehydrated so I left early and came home to lay down. I know it will get easier but this phase pretty much sucks.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
