Wednesday was my last visit out of 6, to the nutritionist before submitting to insurance. The last consult went great and I had a lot of my questions answered. Now I am just waiting for insurance. I hope they tell me something soon. Before I left, my nutritionist gave me a bag of goodies with coupons, the calorie king mini book and lots and lots of samples of the Vitamins that I will be taking. They were lots of different flavors. I took the Iron pill and about 30 minutes later, I felt my stomach getting sour and have this nasty taste in my mouth. I wasn't sure if it was that or not so I took another one the next night and sure enough, my stomach got sour again. I read up on iron pills and it said that it can cause diarrhea, and an upset stomach. Did anyone else have this problem? If so what can I do to relieve this nasty taste when i take it? Thanks

I also have problems taking those many Vitamins and minerals plus the Iron. Found that the Calcium is nasty for my stomach.

The doctor said to take a few of them after eating food. Nothing works.

When I don't take them I feel wonderful.

What's a person to do?

I'm glad you presented this problem as maybe someone can help us both.

I personally use Celebrate grape Iron and it doesn't give me any problems at all. It's chewable and the strong grape flavor really hides the Iron taste for me. Celebrate does samples for $3 and they will send you samples of most everything they have plus a $3 off coupon if you decide to order with them. So, basically the samples are free. I don't know if I'm the anomaly but I have used Celebrate's iron for two years and have never had any trouble with it at all.

Iron is really important..good luck!

My nutritionist gave me a sample of Iron pills to try as well,(ferretts iron supplement.) I take them at night before going to bed and I have no side effects. I read on another thread where someone was complaining about the same thing. A few members recommended Garden of life iron pill. I've never tried it but just passing along the information.

Good luck.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
