Hey Ya'll!

I've had a bit of a setback. I partially tore my right calf muscle on Saturday. So I've been sitting on my butt and I'm tired of it. At least my doctor said I can start putting weight on my leg. BUT NO EXERCISE! I had lost a total of 40lbs, but I've gained 5 since I've been sitting around all day. And I've been very depressed about it all. My appetite has increased and I'm not drinking enough since its a major pain to hobble to the bathroom on crutches. Oh well...enough complaining. It could have been worse...I could have completely tore the muscle.

And we're going to New Braunfels for Memorial Day weekend and now all I can do is sit around the camp and watch everyone else have fun. Yeah I know...welcome to the pitty party.

I just need a little encouragement.

Thanks.

Hi Kyethra. I noticed how much weight you have lost. Good for you!! I hope you are feeling well now. I know you were pretty sick for awhile. I hope all of that is over for you. My surgery was a week before yours and I haven't done nearly as well as you. I think I am going to be a member of the "slow losers club." I am so glad you young ones took care of business at an early age. Your health will be so much better in later years. What size band did you get. Mine is a medium, 10cm. I have had 2 fills, How about you?

Thanks. I've got mono or something like that so I'm getting better slowly. But I am improving so that is good. I'm not sure how big my band is in length. I know its an inamed and it holds 4ccs. I haven't had a fill yet. I haven't needed one yet-- I had a ton of restriction at the beginning. I'm starting to loosen up though, so maybe in a couple of weeks I'll need one. We'll see.

Happy Birthday Denise!!

I have been crazy busy lately with the last few weeks of school. Tomorrow is the first day of summer for my three kids. I am excited - I love everything about summer - swimming, the beach, playing at the park.

My weight loss has slowed down from the beginning but it is still consistent. Plus I am sitting her in size 24 jeans!! (from a size 34 at surgery).

Happy Birthday Denise!!!

Tammyj- I missed you yesterday!!! Call me girl so we can go jogging together.

Everything has been great with me I am learning to work with my band. I feel I need a fill hopefully when I go back to the doctor it will happen. However i'm still losing so we shall see. We have finally had a break in the weather so I want to do more outside stuff. I actually have a NSV Last Saturday I rode my bike along the lake front from 63rd and Lake Shore Dr. to Navy Pier (That In Chicago). That was a total of 18 miles. I really shocked myself with that one!!!!

MaRcHiEs Rock!!!! Stay Motivated Everyone!!!!

Hi Everyone,

I go to the doc again for a 2 month visit after my surgery. I had a fill the first visit and I am not sure what he will do with this visit. I can feel some restriction which from what I am reading is odd after only 1 fill. Just wanted to insight if other have gotten another fill after a month.

Also can you guys share with me some of your breakfast/lunch/snack ideas.

I keep reading all of your posts about exercise... I am going to go tommorrow night. Keep up the good work everyone...even when you don't realize it your motivating others.. like me!!!

I weighed in at the gym this morning and it ready 239lbs!!!! The 270's, 260's, 250's, and 240's are gone for good. Now I can officially say that "I'VE LOST 40 POUNDS!!!" Instead of "almost" 40lbs! :woot:

Denise, I hope you enjoyed your birthday!!! :happybday:

Outdoorfriends, I hope have a fast recovery! Try some sit down exercises with weights and some side bends at your waist. It may not burn as many calories, but you'll have some kick ass arms and shoulders by the time you're done! :boxing:

Kyethra, you seem to be having one problem after another. I don't know how you function. You're a strong girl! I hope things get better for you soon!

Hazelbunny, You are doing AWESOME!!! :grouphug:

lala3000, I don't know what's wrong with me girl! This is the second week that I haven't made it to the hospital. I have been running around in circles lately. I really need to get myself together. Biking from 63rd to Navy Pier is a GREAT NSV! WAY TO GO!!! :)

CuddlyNymph, The restriction felt after fill #1 has alot to do with your band size and how aggressive your surgeon is with fills. Those with the larger band may need several fills, but if you have the smaller band like me it usually only takes one or two fills. I felt some restriction with my first fill of 1.5cc and 2 weeks later I went for my second fill of 2.25cc. I have good restriction now. I have another appt. on June 4th so we'll see...if I keep this same restriction I will tell my surgeon that I don't want another fill. So, If you have good restriction and you are loosing weight, you may want to postpone having another fill.

Happy HumpDay!!!!!

Had my first fill today...how weird is it to watch what you're drinking go down on the xray machine. It was neat to see how the band worked. Hopefully my weightloss will start up again now. I've been good about still working out at least 3 times a week and doing my Water aerobics, but have been making myself keep a positive attitude even though I haven't lost any weight in the last 2-3 weeks.

I don't know what to do:help:

I was worried 2 weeks ago because my weight was going up and down a couple of pounds and I seemed to be eating more, so I scheduled a fill appt. Over the weekend I seemed to feel quite a bit of restriction and went down another pound, so canceled my appt. Now the last 2 nights I've been really hungry in the evening and ate way too much. :)

My band has 1 cc now & it's the 4cc/smallest band. I'm close to 1/2 way to my goal. I do not want to be too restricted where I can't eat healthy foods. I'm worried that more fills = more possiblity of complications with the band. I really want to lose 13 lbs by mid August. I don't like that I'm doing that thing with my eating again....overeating - then feeling bad and strict dieting again. I'm just concerned it's getting out of control again. Maybe a fill IS what I need. What do you guys think?

Congrats on the "40" TammyJ and Denise!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
