I am 6 days sleeved and I am very emotional today. I cry at the drop of a hat. Everything has been going well so I don't know where this is coming from!

Hi Sky,

Don't feel so down. It is actually a sign that your body is breaking into your fat stores and burning it. We, as women, store a ton of hormones in our fat cells and when they start to break down our body gets massive doses of all that lovely storage. I am about 10 days out and had one of those days yesterday - I actually berated my fiance for not getting me Water when I asked for it ( apparently, him asking me which kind I wanted... propel / a frozen bottle from the fridge that I couldn't drink / or a bottle that wasn't in the fridge touched a fat nerve) It will get better.

skylarkx,

Don't underestimate the impact the anesthesia, surgery and trauma from surgery has had on your body. Your body just went through he!! 6 days ago.

Hope you feel better soon.

Kathleen

Feeling "Crazy" comes with the territory in the beginning. You're releasing hormones and toxins stored up in your fat cells at a rapid rate. Good news is it gets better. For me, much better after the first month and completely better after about month 3. Hang in there!

skylarkx,

I hope you are more comfortable soon.

But those feelings -- we just need to feel our feelings. And, if possible, change our feelings by doing things that are healthy for us -- not the old same ways we've always responded to those feelings.

I'm going through a "what are my compulsions?" internal dialogue right now. Am sort of surprised, actually to find out that what I thought were healthy behaviors (like working a lot) aren't all as health-provoking as I once thought.

Interesting trip we're on, eh?

One of my friends who was sleeved 4 months before me said about 4 weeks after her surgery, "I HATE the feeling my feelings part. And there is nothing I can eat, no glass of wine to pour…I'm a raging bitch."

It does get better, especially after you start exercising again.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
