Kaiser south sacramento

Recommended Posts

I would really like to find some people that are in the Kaiser program. I'm in the south Sacramento program. The support groups have not and what I had hoped for I love to find the support here. After my psych evaluation today I've met all the requirements... Interested to hear what all have to do next.

Hi. I'm going to have my surgery done at Kaiser in Fremont. I still have approximately 11 lbs to lose before I can have surgery. I have checked out several of the support groups (Kaiser and non-Kaiser - meaning at other hospitals). Some are better than others, but I have learned things at each meeting. I usually get to 1 meeting per week.

Sounds like you are close to having a date scheduled. How exciting! How was your psych eval? I need to lose 6 more lbs before they'll schedule mine.

Next week when I go to support group their scheduling me for pre-op class. I'm told that day schedule a surgery date. I still seem so I'm sure it's kind of shocking. It's hard to believe this is happening so quickly. I was trying harder it could've happened sooner I didn't start until the end of May. I'm having trouble finding other support groups that are not Kaiser. Kaiser seems to just be run by the nutritionist and I wanted more of the human group.

I'm in Sacramento and would also like to find a support group! Not a part of kaiser but would love human interaction in person.

Hi, I'm also going through the Kaiser program in Fremont. I just got approved and was told to lose 20 pounds and find a support group as well. Seems you all are ahead of me at this point. I'm also looking for a good support group.

The forums on this page have been most helpful and youtube videos but if you guys find a group in Northern California, live human interactions please let me know too.

All the best,

Here's a link to a PDF that I got from Kaiser in Fremont. It lists Kaiser and non-Kaiser support groups:

CaliGirl99 - I also am having my surgery done at Kaiser in Fremont, and I have 11 more pounds to lose before surgery (no date set yet). I go to support groups in the South Bay mostly (San Jose, Santa Clara, Campbell, Los Gatos).

Diyana, Your almost there. So what have you done to help lose weight? I'm just getting started. I've been reading through my book and lost 3 pounds so far. I've been walking 4 times a week but gained muscle lol. I just started drinking body by vi shakes.< /p>

Hi CaliGirl99 -

I've been eating roughly 1,200-1,400 calories per day, focusing on Protein, limiting carbs. And I've been exercising approximately 45 minutes at least 5 days per week. The first 9 lbs came off pretty easy...these last 11 are taking longer.

I haven't been perfect. I've had a several "food funerals" for things like Taco Bell and ice cream, so I know that has slowed my progress.

I track EVERYTHING I eat (even the "bad" stuff) in MyFitnessPal. I've already called in to record my weight once, and I'm scheduled to do so on Monday. I just hope like heck, I can be down at least 5 lbs by then. My home scale says I'm down 5 lbs, but it's not always accurate. I plan to weigh myself at the gym tonight.

Good luck Caligirl!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
