I Keep thrift shopping. I have so many clothes now I have no where to put them. I still wear my six sizes too big pants and look ridiculous. I know I should donate them but I'm scared. Do any of you feel this way? I bought my first store bought (Kohl's) pair of jeans. Skinny jeans, size 20. They fit great but I lack a full length mirror so I'm sure they look horrible. I have a pile of "later" clothes. I can pretty much eyeball them to guess how many pounds it will take to fit in them. I actually have gotten on a 18 but can't quite get them buttoned. I was sleeved April 7, 2014 and have lost 63 lbs. what do I do with these mountains of huge clothes???

Donate them!! Know that you will never go back to that size, and own it!

I recently donated about 5 large trash bags of cloths almost 18 months post-op. I still have some special occasion gowns that I want to try and sell on consignment or on eBay. It is hard to let go of all that stuff but try to take ownership of your new life and size. Your size will keep changing rapidly in the beginning so don't invest in too much yet. I shopped at consignment stores and Walmart, still do sometimes, cuz I love a bargain! Have fun with it!

I gave away thousands of dollars worth of clothes to people I know that could use them. What they didn't want they gave to others that could use them.

We all know that good quality plus sized clothing is very expensive. There are also a lot of people out there that can't afford them. So, it made me feel good about giving them away.

Although, my plus sized Harley Davidson clothes I sold on ebay.

Hi same here. I've donated almost my whole wardrobe! I was sleeved on 4/3 and down about 65 lbs. I had kept a pair of size 14 Levi jeans from maybe 12 years ago! Not into them but those are my mini goal pants. Hope to get into them for my b-day in Oct. I've bought some smaller clothes, so when I finally get in them I get so excited. Once I hit goal I will shop till I drop! Even my shoe size has changed! I'm glad it's summer though as I wear stretch capris and they are inexpensive as I move on through this journey of mine. And LOVE it !!!

I'm pe-op still.

Went through my closet and got rid of the pieces I had no desire to ever fit back into and donated them. I guess I'm a bit of a clothes horder because I have a ton of clothes left over from the past 7 years to try and fit back into, Which is great becauae I won't have to buy anything for a while.

I understand- I have a long history of yo yo dieting and have gotten rid of my larger clothes in the past swearing "never again" only to have nothing to wear once I started to gain it all back. I keep reminding myself that the difference this time is that I am not trying to do it on my own through sheer willpower but haver he sleeve as my tool to help me. My plan for my too-big clothes as I lose:

1) donate casual clothes to local charities

2) sell upscale/professional clothes to plus size consignment store or on eBay

3) participate in the clothing swaps at my monthly bariatric support group

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
