Questions? Night sweats, vitamins and exercise

Recommended Posts

I Was sleeved 7/28. Since the surgery I wake up drenched from sweating, I'm freezing and need to change my pajamas. No fever. Does anyone else have this?

I'm feeling really good, went food shopping today, trimmed the bushes, cleaning and doing laundry...anything where I don't have to bend and I'm walking several times a day, when should I be considering adding light weights or bands for my arms.

The nose spray Vitamin gave me a huge sore on the inside of my nose. I discontinued it and purchased sublingual.< /p>

I am not a doctor and I did not sleep at a Holiday Inn last night :P . I will relate what my PCP told me about night sweats...I went in because I was sure it was peri-menopause but he said more than half the time night sweats are a symptom of depression...the mind is racing at night when you are sleeping, which revs up the body to act. I tried estrogen for a bit, and at the same time decided to pursue WLS and my night sweats went away. I really disliked the estrogen though because it made me have a period like every other freakin week  So, with his approval, I stopped the estrogen...about 3 weeks ago and have not had any more night sweats....So...maybe...your mind is still trying to wrap itself around the surgery/changes and they will get better with time. But as with all things, if you are not sure you should talk to your medical dudes. Just my two cents...

For about three or four days after surgery I had the same thing. It was the body's way of working on getting rid of all the extra Fluid from the surgery and IV.

If I have Protein powder too close to bedtime I will wake up with the night sweats. I'm 10 months post op, 39 years old, don't have a uterus but still have my ovaries. I attribute it the Protein Powder too close to bedtime. Had a really bad one last night too. Woke my hubby up tossing wet covers on him. Oops!

I'm adding in this...I've been taking a antihistamine at bedtime, but I think that May be the other possibility here for me. Going to dump that entirely and see what happens.

I figured out that my night sweats were being caused by reactive hypoglycemia. I have to be really careful with what I eat close to bed time.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
