Mkeisha29 it's very fast that you don't realize when you fell asleep . In the hospital , nurses put an iv and then done lidocaine in order to numb my arm so then they can put general .

@@chris73 Chris - thats the only drawback about going to Mexico - is that you dont have aftercare... you do have a nutricionalist that you can talk to and a liaison that you can chat with - if you have questions or problems you can call or email the drs at the hospital... but no aftercare. They want you to have a dr here in the states that can do followup blood work for you to send back to them - just to make sure you are getting the right Vitamins and nutrients. But if you have a real problem that cant be handled by advice - then you have to go to the ER.

Surgery is on Monday (25th) and I have my preop tomorrow. Im so nervous something may stop it. I don't think I'll believe this is real until I wake up from surgery!

I have my surgery on Monday too. Waiting for a call later today telling me when to arrive. I'm so nervous that they're going to say this was a joke and you're not getting it done. Can't wait for the call hoping it's good news.

I was sleeved the 19th, same for me, first time going under. So, the anesthesiologist said, are you ready? I said "let's go", the next thing I remember is coming to and thinking, "I've got to get up for surgery today, hey wait a minute who are these people around me, holy cow is it over?" That was it, you'll do fine. Good Luck.

That part was cake. I laid down on the surgery table and that was a little freaky - they strap your arms down, out to the side. But then the doctor said something like "have a nice nap!" and boom, I was gone. I don't think it was even 30 seconds later. And no mask before that. Then it was two hours later and they were waking me up. Easy peasy, don't worry!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
