Im a month post op for the sleeve on 7/2/14. Im still having trouble with blended Proteins ( mostly meats) - when i take small bites of things and chew for a long time... the food goes down fine, but then in 5-10 min it feels like i need to burp and the food is stuck. Am i eating too fast? I'm not swallowing a lot... maybe taking too many bites, too quickly?

At a month out I'm not sure your pouch is ready for solid meats yet? What stage are you supposed to be in? At a month out I was on soft foods.

I'm supposed to be on soft foods still... But it's getting boring!!! I'm trying to mash Proteins and eat them but it's super annoying when they don't go down. I'll have to stick to my Protein Shakes , scallops and shrimp!

I would. Sounds like you're just not ready for meats yet. Have you tried eggs? They're good Protein and ok in the soft stage.

Love eggs! I have one in the mornings usually... What other soft foods are good? I'm going to try a tuna fish and bean blended dip.

Are you eating cooked regular meat like a chicken breast for lunch meat? You might be able to tolerate lunch meat better. I believe I was also eating lots of cheese and crackers at that state and PB2.

I tried a little tuna mixed w/spicy hummus one time. It was tasty and the tuna stayed down. I haven't done it since, but only because I threw out more than 1/2 the can of tuna so it didn't seem worth it. Hard boiled egg mixed w/hummus is good, too, and I have that more often because there is little waste. :-)

Hummus, yogurt, oatmeal, tuna (only if it's moist enough that it doesn't need to be chewed), applesauce, etc. My nutritionist told me I could eat anything that's soft and moist enough to not need chewing.

The folks on the sleeve boards can probably help you more than us bypass folks. Your stomach is 3 to 4 times bigger than our pouch.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
