Old navy doesn't have that big of sizes though. I wear guy clothes so I buy from a big and tall store called Casual Male. Or I just buy Dickies shorts.

I buy from www.avenue.com and also Fashionbug.com

They carry pretty big sizes and the clothes are nice looking. I wear a 32 so my selection is pretty limited.

As far as i know you can get up to a 24 easily there....but im not sure of anything any bigger. I know Oldnavy.com has more selection then the actual stores.

I haven't purchased any clothes in over a year, but prior to that, I bought most everything from Lane Bryant. It's the only store nearby GUARANTEED to have something that fit that I could buy and then get the heck out of the mall with all possible quickness.

Lane bryant and fashion bug tend to be the stores I frequent the most, though I got a bunch of stuff at marshal fields before it went away one time I was in chicago area. I also shop online. I haven't purchased anything from them yet, but I thought alight.com has some cute stuff and a wide variety. There is torrid for some more "normal" type clothes. Hottopic.com has a skull tank I want. Ebay. Oh the things I discover on ebay...

The catherines by me I don't like. There is also a new plus sized store in the mall that opened up, I can't remember the name. But it wasn't anything I like, plus the sales lady completely ignored me. I was the only person in the store too. Some stores I notice tend to have what I think of as middle aged comfy teacher wear. The sort of thing I remember a lot of my middle aged teachers wearing. Fine for them, but not what I want. There is one store in the mall that is supposed to offer sizes a little bigger, weather vane or vanity I think. Not as big as me but more like size 17 so when I get to that size I have to try that out. Sometimes gordmans or kohls. LOL now it sounds like I shop a lot. I really don't even have that many clothes. Less than DH, honest.

Ok not that many that fit. Rather few actually. I do have some clothes in storage bins that don't fit that i need to weed through and save for when I hit that size though.

I am a size 24/26 currently and 6'0. So, I only shop at Alloy for pants, and everywhere else for tops.

I am pretty loyal to the following:

www.alloy.com (All their shirts run WAAAY too small, 3x top didn't fit my xl size friend..their pants are pretty true to size and have 32-37" inseams)

www.torrid.com (plus size shop of Hot Topic- carries wide width shoes that are sexy-best I've ever found)

www.alight.com (BEST hippie kinda clothes I've ever found in plus-which I like. Price is a bit steep, but I splurge once in a while)

www.oldnavy.com (Yes, they have plus size and they fit really well.. definitely not too small, if anything I buy size down on some items)

www.newport-news.com (OldER women styles, this is where I get my business clothes.. my mom who is size 12/14 also shops here.. they are pricey but clothes are nice)

www.spiegel.com (Same info as newport-news)

Other places to mention:

I've also shopped at the following and still do once in a while-

www.roamans.com

www.fashionbug.com

And lastly, lane bryant's website. They're a little out of my price range though, so.. shrug.

*I've been online shopping since I was about 13 and they came out with 'cool' plus size clothes. Until then, I always wore out of men's big & tall.

I tend to shop at Lane Bryant, Torrid, The Avenue. However, I have so many clothes ranging from 26/28 at my largest which was right before banding, to size 16 which I didget down to in 2005 right before I traveled to back home to Ireland. Came back to California, dropped my low carb diet, and put on all the weight back plus some.

Cant wait to be down to a 16 again! God I love my band!

Our Old Navy does not have pls sizes either. I like Fashion Bug and Lane Bryant. I also sometimes find theings at Target and Walmart. But my favorite is deffinitly Lane Bryant. They are just really expensive.

I am going through sizes so i don't like to spend a lot for clothes right now so it is Walmart and fashion bug and occasionally kohls when the have a sale. I used to shop Romans and lanebryant catalogue almost all the time because I had to. I don't use the catalogues anymore. Catherines I agree has not got clothes i like and their prices are too high for short term wear.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
