I have never heard of unflavoured protien! I will check it out. I have ordered some juice type Isopure but its really hard to get a choice of flavours in England, all the nice flavours are in America! Oh no dont be nervous! It will be fine! I know its easy for me to say now but its not going to be anywhere near as scary as you are thinking it will be! I was expecting the absolute worst pain ever but for the first few days it feels like you have done too many sit ups and you've woken up with achy ribs feeling a bit bruised. Its wasnt like the type of pain I expected after an op. I wasnt sick at all but the hospital had anti sickness meds at the ready to sort that out if I did. I was on a drip for fluids for the first 24 hours so I didnt feel hungry or thirsty. The worst part is having to put up with the liquid diet. Mines for 4 weeks, then pureed food but some are on pureed after a week! When are you going in for yours?

I ordered directly from their website but I see Amazon has it in stock again. http://smile.amazon.com/Musclegen-Research-Genepro-Genetic-Tri-Protein/dp/B00K6OSDYA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1424358840&sr=8-1&keywords=genepro+unflavored+Protein I started with a couple sample packs and that's how I knew I was ok with it. Hoping i can still handle it post-op. I am going in for surgery on Tuesday, March 3rd in Mexico. I think that's the part I'm most nervous about, and the day of travel home. I am going with a girlfriend who had the surgery two years ago and I feel like if she can do it, so can I. I'm a trooper!

Awww thank you I will have a look and order some and see how I get on. Since protien has to be my new friend ???? . Everything else is soooo sweet now. And thats coming from a (former) chocoholic!. You will be fine travelling home. The pain I had was only there when I was moving around not sitting in one place. Wear loose trousers and maybe a sports bra without underwire. Just be excited instead of nervous! Its something thats going to make your life better remember so why worry when everything is going to go swimmingly! ????

Well I'm sleeved finally! About 36 hours out now. Passed the leak test and just got my drain out. Moving to hotel in about 3 hours and our driver is coming to take us to the beach and a little shopping later.

Congrats! Where did you have your procedure & who was your surgeon?

@@ronimom I had the surgery done in Tijuana with Dr.'s Cabrera and Camelo. I used Mexico Tourism Co. I had a great experience and would be happy to answer any questions you may have! I've had two girlfriends also go, I was the second of the three of us and everyone had a great experience.

@jdillon Don't bother with what others think and say, know deep inside it's what you need to do for yourself to be healthy.

That's the biggest gift of love you can give yourself. Kindest wishes for a sucessful operation and the start of a life that YOU wish to lead, not others.

Hugs

Kate

Agreed! Mine isn't as low as yours, but mine is 36.7 and have heard similar things from ppl. They don't understand, and I don't care! The person that is NY biggest supporter agrees with me, my husband, and that's all that matters to me. ☺

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
