The Only person who can properly answer that question is your surgeon or primary doctor if your surgeon is not available.....please do not take medical advice from these forums. Call your doctor.

Since we are warned not to put hard candy/cough drops in our mouth, I would not recommend them. At 5 weeks post op I had a small piece of chicken stuck mid chest that caused tremendous pain, so the worry would be if you inadvertently swallowed the cough drop. Personally I would mix a teaspoon of whiskey, honey and lemon juice which is an ancient remedy for a cough.

Put your pillow across your tummy and lean forward when you cough. It helps take the pressure off your abdomen and helps decrease any pain.

yes, i was going to recommend the pillow to ease the pain as well...AND call your doctor!!! Please make sure you are okay... your health is paramount, and the only one that can truly tell what is going on is your doctor...

Hope you feel better soon...
