Starting to get nervous...

Ohhhh... Spaghetti sounds soooo yummy!!! I'm Italian, so I loooove that stuff! With some warm garlic bread.... Ooommmggg.....

This morning tho, I don't know why, but I was craving scrambled eggs lol. I didn't eat them very often pre-band, but just the thought of them... Maybe it's because I'm already sick of juice, Popsicles, Jello, and broth!!! At least today I was able to start drinking Protein drinks!

When did you have your surgery? How are you feeling?

I started my Protein Drinks today, and I have to tell you, I'm feeling pretty sluggish. I'm keeping it down (so far, fingers crossed) but I just don't feel as good as I have over the past three days. However, I'm in a lot less pain today, and walking is easier. When I stand up, I don't feel like it takes me so long to straighten up. I think part of the problem today too, is that I'm pretty sure I overdid things yesterday. I walked a total of 1-3/4 miles, and the dr said by 6 weeks to be able to walk 1 mile. I just feel worn out today.

Being a week post-op, have you weighed yourself yet? My husband was banded in Nov 2010. He said there may or may not be any weigh loss. All I know is, with only getting in about 70 total calories per day, and all this walking, there SHOULD be lol!!!

How awesome, plopez!!! CONGRATS!!! I'm not weighing in until this Thurs, I'll be one week post-op then. I weighed myself before I left for the surgery, and it was the same weight as my weigh in at the hospital, so I'm hoping its accurate. I'm supposed to see my surgeon for follow up the week of the 23rd, so I'm guessing he'll weigh me then, too. We shall see! I'm so glad everyone is doing well!!!

You guys have to take chewable vitamins? My surgeon insisted on these chewable ones that make me so freaking nauseated. They are pretty bad. I can't imagine taking these for life. There must be something better...what are you all taking?

I went to my local CVS drug store and bought their store brand children's chewables. They we're buy one, get one 1/2 off, so I figured, why not? If I didn't like them, my 6 y/o could have them. Honestly, they aren't bad at all! I would buy them again :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
