Just took my pre-op pictures...gross

Recommended Posts

i cannot believe how HUGE my stomach has gotten over the past couple years.

i have avoided pictures for the longest time but i wanted something to document all of my loss and a final pic that my kids will hardly remember someday...

WOW. now i can understand why i have been asked when i'm due. i have PCOS and carry it all in my belly and i seriously look about 54 weeks pregnant. HUGE.

well, at least that part is over!

I hear you! I have a huge gut too! I have to wear a one piece jumper to work. I look like a stuffed sausage. I CANNOT WAIT FOR SURGERY! I have to keep getting a bigger and bigger one. It makes me want to cry

I had my husband take my full body "before" pictures yesterday. Yikes! I know what you mean. I avoid getting my picture taking and if I do it's usually just a head shot. Should have had him do it a long time ago and put it on the fridge, LOL.

I'm going to have my step-daughter take full pictures of me next week. She had VSG Juan 2013 and know just what I will be going through. She is going to be such a big help. I carry my weight all over, which makes it hard to find pants that fit my legs. If I get a big enough size for my legs, they are huge on my belly. I have a picture of my husband and I back in 1998 when I was at my highest weight. We posed with Minnie and Mickey. We are going to Disney World again this year and I plan on getting a new picture with Minnie and Mickey.

The pre-op "before" pic is super painful to take. But TRUST ME....you are going to be SO glad that you did. Now my favorite thing is when I take my monthly progress pic and do my monthly before/after comparison. You will be so glad in the long run. Also, be sure to take measurements. I didn't and So wish that I would have!

I carry tons of weight in my stomach. Ugh, I hate it! I hope that's the first place I lose, it, but all my luck it will come from my ankles or something!

One more thing to remember - save ONE pair of your largest clothing. But, toss everything else. It will be a blessed day that you can fit 2 legs in one pant leg. Enjoy the ride and know that this painful moment will be wrapped around a thousand happy, joyful ones when you compare yourself from then to now.

Do it. You'll want them later!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
