I'm self pay. Insurance doesn't cover it. I could have had the surgery the following week but I had a trip planned. Scheduled for my return.

My goodness that is fast. I suppose with self pay, you are the boss. I have really good insurance, my surgery will cost $500 co pay for an admission to the hospital. So I am lucky money wise...

Yes self pay does allow whatever we want. I worry that we wont be as prepared for it. My surgery will be 3 months after initial visit so its not so so quick.

I wasn't self pay and my wait wasn't that long o started my journey the end of April and had my surgery 7/3 , but my insurance didn't require me to lose weight or do any pre- approval diet. Only thing I had to do was pay co - payments and admission into hospital. I'm so thankful for that.

Actually I'm great I'm able to drink my fluids and getting around good. The pain is minimal I only take my pain meds like twice a day I got a headache out know where today but I read that is normal cause of the rapid weight loss. I haven't weighted myself yet I decided to wait till my first follow up appointment to see how much I lose. I'm just focusing on getting my Protein and fluids in a walking my but off.

My surgery is July 22nd. Having it done in Albany, NY. Anxious and nervous. As with anything just not sure what to expect post op. How to you plan meals around activities, and just pull everything together? Has anyone found any really useful tools in helping with a food diary or anything other means to track all that we need to track post op?

My fitness pal is an app and a online program. Great for tracking, we learned about it and had to use it in our preclasses

Looking for other July Sleevers! Let's help each other through this journey. I see my surgeon July 1st and if everything goes well my nurse said surgery date of July 14th. I am self pay. I checked into having the sleeve done in Mexico but decided to have it done here in Montana. I have checked into a couple of other places but really love the facility that I will be having it done at. It's been quite an adventure to say the least. I would love to share this time with fellow sleevers.

Hello Fearnot , my surgery date is also July 14th. I have been lurking reading all the threads but felt I should comment and get into the middle of things as there are only 6 days and 1 hour left now. Glad you have shared your story so far. Can't wait to get this done and begin eating for life instead of living for eating.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
