I just realized I never put my date on here ... it's on another post somewhere. I'm July 1st with pre-op June 17. I have had this date since late April! It's been a long time coming, but the sitting and waiting with nothing to do but think has not been good for me.

Good luck all!

Good Luck! I have my pre-op this Wednesday June 18th and surgery July 1st!

Nice to meet you all!

Im 36, self paying. Have a ten day liquid diet next month.... bought some Torani sugar free syrups to make it go easier. Hope it helps. Bmi is 49. I have gained ten pounds a year pretty much every year as an adult. Time for some drastic changes that I havent been able to do on my own. Looking forward to the follow up after surgery, classes and support group. Self paying means no pre surgery hurdles and counseling which is both good and bad.

PrincessM where will you be having your surgery. I am self pay also. Planning on having VSG in july.

All the best,

Clara

I am in California also. My surgery is July 24th. Going to Mexico for mine. You can pm me.

My doctor has not mentioned anything about a pre-surgery diet. Which is strange to me, seeing that so many of you mention it. Anyone know why some physicians would require a pre-surgey diet and/or some that wouldn't require it?

Not sure why.....but my doctor doesn't require a pre-op diet either.

Really? I find that very strange as it's usually to shrink the liver to make surgery easier. Do you need to fast the day before surgery?

Exactly, it is possible to accidentally knick the liver during surgery because it is in the way so the pre-op liquids help reduce the chance of that happening by shrinking it. It is especially important if you've ever been diagnosed with a fatty liver.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
