Wow. Tomorrow. Tomorrow!

We get to push the re-set button, we get to start over. We get to be healthy and strong!

Keep the faith, everybody. We are totally going to ROCK this.

If you can, take some technology with you to the hospital--and let's check in when we wake up.

I can't wait! It's been 18 months since I started this process. I was cleared by insurance a year ago, but....I couldn't walk because of my knees. So, one year and two knee replacements later, I am ready to do this!

God bless you all. See you on the other side!

Good evening everyone! Had my surgery about 9:30 and feeling pretty good. Tired and loopy from the meds. My stomach and incisions are sore but no where near unbearable. Doctor said everything went as good as one could hope for. If everything goes well tomorrow I should get to go home tomorrow evening. Super excited! Sitting up in a chair now. Hope everyone has just as a good day as I had.

I had a rough first day but all because of the gas pains. The pain meds kept everything else under control. Luckily I didn't have any nausea. The gas pain settled right in the middle of my chest and was killer. I was stuck in recovery for 4 hours while they waited for an empty room for me. I want able to get up and walk until around 9:30 pm. The nursing staff at this hospital is amazing though! I couldn't have asked for better care! They took the catheter out this morning and u was able to go on my own about half an hour later. I got up to walk every time I got up to pee which was about every hour. When I finally got lunch the smell of the chicken broth almost made me gag but I got about half of it down. I ate about 1/3 of the Jello. Now I'm being discharged and just waiting for a wheelchair to take me to the front door!

New life here I come:-) I really haven't had much pain from the incisions or from my stomach. .. mostly when I move from one side to the other and it feels like the day after a hard core workout.

I just want to go home and get some sleep in a less noisy environment! !!

How is everyone feeling now that you're home? I'm on full liquids as of today. I've only had one Protein Shake that took me about two hours to drink. I'm still really weak...I guess because of the lack of calories over the last few days? I finally took a shower today which helped me feel human again though. I'm not really feeling any pain from my incisions....just mild discomfort.

I'm doing good hard to sleep still can't find a comfortable way to lay yet. But otherwise not bad no real pain from my incisions. I can add soft foods today so I'm going to try a yogurt soon. Getting they my Protein shake for the day slowly but will make it at the end if the day. Been up and walking as well. Just ordered myself a medical alert bracket in case something happens in the future. Looking forward to showing later today as well.

4 days post op..doing ok...still lots of pain at large incisions sites when getting up and down or trying to sit. Ive been trying to walk as much as possible. I am having a hard time getting Water in, not because of nausea or anything...I sip sip all day but I just don't feel like im getting very far. Also came home from hospital 10lbs heavier that really sucked all those iv fluids and gas. I can't wait until I can sleep on my side again..sleeping on my back with a million pillows is getting old, lol. Has anyone experienced Diarehha? I have it and don't understand how because I don't have food in my tummy. Just broth, water and alittle Protein Drink.< /p>

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
