Week 2: May 27-31st Sleevers

Recommended Posts

On my post op day 5, I developed blurry vision. I called the Dr and he said I needed to increase my Fluid and my Protein. I had to eat 3 hard candies to get the blurry vision to go away so I thought it was low sugar. On day 6 I practically slept all day and was very tired. I gradually increased my fluids and protein and I felt better. Perhaps it is the same with you habsi.

Hello All! I had my surgery May 27th, in Edmond Oklahoma. I started out my journey at 254 pounds and I am 5'9". Before my surgeon would operate I had to loose 5% of my weight. I chose to loose that weight by cutting out all sugar and eating Protein and veggies. My weight the day of surgery was 240 pounds. Today, June 9th I weigh 224 pounds. My 2 week post-op diet has been a bit different from most of you. My surgeon and nutritionist require a two week clear liquid diet. They are not concerned with the Protein intake in through shakes. They believe in getting protein in naturally through the food you eat rather then the shake rout. I can have a Protein Drink if I begin to feel hunger, weakness, dizziness or fatigue. I am excited and looking forward to my two week postop diet class tomorrow. Then I can begin to eat soft food :)

Well here are my stats as of this am:

Start weight was 189 ( that is as I was doing my preop diet)

May 29 surgery weight was 183

Weight today is 171

NSV I can now wear my engagement and claddaugh rings hubby gave me when we were married 17 and a half years ago. I am fitting into smaller clothes in my closet.

Challenges: it is tough when my family is eating all these tempting smelling things around me. But I have not given in and I will not give in bc I know this is head hunger, plus I am scared to pieces of leaks!

I am basically having my Protein Shakes Water and sf Popsicles during the day. I have tried stuff a little more "substantial" like puréed Beans sf pudding and low carb yogurt, but gurgulina (my sleeves name) sings and complains for quote a while afterward so I get scared I am pushing it too soon.

Low energy is and should be Normal .

Your body is use to get its energy source from crap food which is why we become obese .. Now that you are purgeing it out it's much like a drug withdraw and soon should start conferring your stored fat in to energy which is a better source sugar is like a dura flame log and fat is a nice oak log what's going to give you better heat oak over dura ... So your energy levels should start to come up. .. :)

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
