Hey Brittany....The binder you mentioned...When you had your surgery was that something that mainly held your stomache muscles from say falling forward or something? I'm having pain still where my drain tube was run from and was thinking something like an ace bandage, girdle or something to hold those muscles close so not to hurt....I'm going on week two from surgery and all my other insicions are fine except the one where the excess stomache was removed and drain tube ran from the left side and it hurts like hell...Maybe i should just give it time....???? Or maybe look for the binder....hmmm???

thank you for your help

kim

Yes the binder helped with keeping everything tight. I used it to sleep and walk so I wasn't using to many muscles cause that mess starts to really hurt when your using your muscles.

Kim and to others I hate that our doctors didn't tell those of us with the large mid section that we should we wearing this already...I googled and talked to others on Facebook and some of them their dr's already put one on them after surgery and told them to wear them for months if it helped with the midsection....NOT SAYING we have bad dr's but I believe their staff need to update somethings because ONE SIZE DOESN'T fit all in this surgery  .....good luck guys :D

I wear compression-top yoga pants. I started wearing them as soon as I could bear it, because the saggy lower belly was putting so much pressure on my incisions that it hurt to do anything other than sit at a recline (and I really didn't feel like sitting in bed all day) I will have to look into some of the other suggestions here. The yoga pants aren't compressing much any more...

I got them at Old Navy.

Do the Kymaro's work well? Holds ya up and in?

It does! I've always hated being giggly and it keeps me from giggling :-) it does not help you lose 2 dress sizes or whatever the infomercial says, but it certainly hold my tummy (and extra skin) in and it doesn't roll up like some other kinds of compression garments do. I've been wearing them for like 6 years under my professional clothes. Now I wear them under everything to keep a smooth/giggle free appearance :-)

Thanks Lynn2win and Brittany....

It just sometimes hurts to walk...I haven't had a chnace to get the hanging skin yet I'm just trying to get in and out of bed and a chair without leaving my insides there. And holy crap if you sneeze, oh Lord, that hurts soooo bad...I did finally take some Extra Strength Tylenol liquid that helped for a while. I just didn't feel the need for left over pain meds. I will keep marching on just like everyone else. Thank you guys for your help I thought maybe when the drain tube was removed that something was hurt inside. Maybe not....????

Spanx?

I am surprised you are feeling this so long after your VSG surgery. Post plastics... that is another story... wanted that support for months after.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
