Liquid protein shake recommendation

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone I am scheduled for the sleeve on July 24th at NYU with Dr. Schwack. I was approved for the band but I met a friend of a friend who had the sleeve done, did my research and now I'm getting sleeved.

I'm not going to sugar coat it, I'm lazy and don't like mixing things. Can someone recommend a Liquid Protein shake which tastes good? I bought GNC's because it had the highest amount of Protein but it has an aftertaste. I can't find the slim fast high protein which is on the recommended list.

Can anyone recommend a great tasting Protein Shake please?

Thank you

A lot of people like Premier Protein shakes and Pure Protein Shakes.< /p>

Where to buy Premier Protein:

http://www.premierprotein.com/where-to-buy/

You can find Pure Protein in brick and mortar stores (Trader Joe's, Kroger, Costco) but they probably have better selection online. I think bodybuilding.com probably has the best selection and prices:

http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/ww/pure-protein-shake.html

honestly I am not crazy about any of the RTD stuff but Pure Protein was my favorite of what I did try.

By the time I was through the surgery and into mushy phase, I couldn't stomach any more shakes. I advise not to stock up too much, even with a flavor or type you like.......once I could get solid Protein or even mushy protein down, I haven't had maybe but a few shakes since. I will say you should start to experiment with Quest Protein Bar flavors because they have been my go to since surgery.......

Thank you I definitely won't overstock.....I just need to make sure I find something I like to get me through the pre-op diet.

Your doctor doesn't have you on a 2 week liquid preop like Optifast?

I've also heard about Isopure drinks being excellent for Protein intake. I hear they taste like powerade/Gatorade. I haven't tried them yet, I'm still new to all this myself. I just had surgery Wednesday morning, and today is my first day home. If you happen to try the isopure drinks an like let me no, an any other suggestions are helpful. Thanks

I've found the isopure gatorade type bottled drinks to be a bit grainy. Certainly not as smooth as Water or actual gatorade.

I have a list of recommended powders and ready to go(RTD) shakes which I can choose from. The GNC lean shake has the highest Protein per serving but it's grainy and has a horrible aftertaste.

To answer your question yes, I have 2 week liquid preop but I have a choice as to what I drink.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
