June 2014 Sleever seeking other June 2014 Sleevers

Recommended Posts

I'm scheduled for my sleeve surgery on June 4th and am looking for other June sleevers to connect with. I just joined this app yesterday, so I'm a little green. It was recommended to me by someone who had the sleeve procedure a year ago. She said connecting with other people who were having the same procedure in the same month was really helpful to her, so I'm hoping to find some other people like me who are looking for help and support as we begin our new journey. Anyone interested in joining a group for June 2014 Sleevers?

Thanks BLAKQUEEN! It's nice to meet you as well. I will definitely check out the various pre-op topics. I will start my 2 week liquid diet on Thursday this week. I think I'll do okay on the liquid diet as long as I can find some Protein powders that taste good once mixed with milk or Water. Have you found a brand or flavor you enjoy? I'm open for suggestions.

Hello all! I guess it's time to join the group :D. I am being sleeved June 2nd. I am excited and absolutely scared to death! So glad to have a group feeling as I do. I love all of the "lists" and information on this site! Sweet Baby, I've been using Premier Protein shakes. They are pricey but very good. If you happen to be a costco member, they are on sale now. They're great for after surgery as well... 30g of Protein. Hope this helps!

@@Sweet Baby,my doctor has me doing slim fast, muscle milk lite, or Atkins for my two week liquid diet. I like GNC brand whey Protein and Unjury protein. You have to shop around find one you like, try samples first. Unjury and nectar have sample packs that you can order. Syntrax Nectar is a fruit based whey protein. There ate others feel free to ask me or others about them. I also order a book from Nikki Massie called The Bariatric Foodie Guide to Perfect Protein Shakes, she also has a blog with some of her recipes on it-Bariatric Foodie. Feel free to contact me or others for help. Good luck

Thanks LovetoDive! We don't have a Costco, but we do have a Sam's Club, so I'll check there to see if they carry the Premier Protein Shakes. I appreciate the feedback.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
