  2. @@madwife2002 that is me! Nothing tastes the same, and that's ok. I understand that will get better as we progress. Congratulations on your weight loss! That's fantastic!

  9. 3 days before my surgery I had to pay my deductible. Was NOT planning on that! However, The doctor bill was in before the hospital bill so I ended up getting most of my deductible back to pay the doc. CRAZY, I know, but wanted you to be prepared. Good luck!!!
  10. Hello all, Before surgery, I found a great Protein shake with 30g of protein. Loved the taste and all was well. Since then, I've done my best to drink 2/day. I always drink 1. I don't care for the taste nearly as much now, but hey... 30 g! Starting this week, whenever I drink 1/2 of 1, I get HORRIBLE Gas pains... like in the floor holding my breath. Gas X helps the pain, for a while, but now the pains come back. This time they were in my new stomach. I could rub under my breast bone and move the air around. I used to drink them from a straw... I know... horrible me (missed that part), but now I've been drinking them slowly from a cup. Anyone else had this issue or any suggestions? Thank you for taking the time to read this!
  11. @@HalloweenBaby24 I had thought MAYBE ON had started carrying them again I haven't ordered from them in a while. Hope you're having a BLAST at the beach!

  16. @@GalileeGal Did you tell people about your surgery? Just curious. I'm so new and have kept it to myself except family and close friends so far... hadn't given it much thought, though, just being summer. Love to hear your thoughts...oh, and by the way, Congratulations on your loss!
  17. @@HalloweenBaby24 1) I have a Halloween Baby 2) Does Old Navy carry size 20 in the store? Or do you order them online?

  19. I don't have insomnia, but found I did after surgery for about 2-3 weeks. What I found out is I was waking because I was hungry. If I ate the 3 bites of what ever, I could go back to sleep. I hope this helps a little.
  20. How was work? So impressed with the plan, though... that's always been so hard for me. I did the same thing for part of my recovery. I went home with the kids. It was wonderful. For me, I just don't want to eat until I HAVE to eat. My poor boys even ask now, "Hey mom, you're a bit snippy. Eaten yet?" OOPS! I still haven't gone to the gym, just trying to swim as often as possible. I know it's time though, and I used to enjoy it. I'm so worried about running out of steam, though. I get really light headed REALLY easily these days. Anyone else? Congrats on 32 lbs, @@BLAKQUEEN! Please keep in touch! I'm doing great! I have my 6 week appointment this Thursday, and then I'll be able to eat some meat!! Weight loss is slow right now, more stalls than anything else But I just have to keep plugging away at it. Including the 2 weeks pre-op diet, I am down 27 pounds. Wendy, that is fantastic! HOW WAS YOUR APPT? meat makes a big difference! You know, our diets are all so very different?!? I could have chicken at week 4. It was awful! In one week 3 days I can have hamburger meat and I'm told that is the easiest to get down. Even tried ground chicken and it just didn't work. 27 lbs is amazing Wendyt! Congratulations! Keep in touch!!!
  21. Yup... I messed up... imagine that.

  23. @@BLAKQUEEN @@camper-girl @@wendyt Hello fellow June 2nd ers! How are you all?
  24. I also use Premier Protein and they now sell it at SAMS. 2/day and you've met your goal. I had to add milk in the beginning, but now I can drink it no problem. Good Luck tomorrow, mamie60! Sending Prayers!
  25. Pre op, the doc said 2-4 weeks. I asked on my first post op visit (3 weeks) , and he cleared me.
  26. I was sleeved on 6/2 and felt the SAME WAY until I was able to start puree. I'm writing a book, How oatmeal Changed My Life. I never thought I could be that happy to eat oatmeal EVER. All kidding aside, that's when I started to finally feel better and not hungry. Good luck!
  27. Hi Erica! I was sleeved 6/2 and I can still only take 3 - 4 bites. What's so hard for me is every one on this site has a different progression of food. What has been wonderful for me is Greek yogurt & Tilapia. Pasta goes down well if I only have 3 bites. Also, a suggestion from a 2 yr vet of the sleeve said to set an alarm. 7 - breakfast, 10 - shake, 12:30 - lunch, 3 - shake, and 6:30 dinner. I still don't hit all of that every day, but it has helped with "normalcy". OH - AND CONGRATULATIONS ON 20 LBS!!! That's fantastic!
