My large incision has been annoying the hell out of me. Not the actual incision but like the muscles/tissue around it! I get this burning stabbing feeling of I move a certain way and last night I woke up and I guess had done something in my sleep it did not like and was having stabbing pain around the incision site. It goes away eventually but the skin is numb and tingly and the pain seems like it's in the muscle. Anyone else have this problem?

Also how long did your steri strips or band aids stay on?

I would also like to compare battle scars if your brave enough. Lol!!

That incision is where they remove the part of your stomach they cut away.

Within that incision are also sort of 'tethering' stitches. These are attached to the muscle, which is why if you pull them a bit, they hurt waaay more than the others.

Try not to fret. Give it a few weeks - perhaps 4 -6 and all of a sudden, that 'tethered' feeling just disappears.

Its like the stitches dissolve and you're back to being you - just with incisions healing on the outside and your stomach healing on the inside.

All perfectly normal - and your scar looks great.

As long as you're not over-exerting yourself and other than the 'oooh, that's weird' kinda feeling is all you're encountering, all is well.

The moment you get any seeping or pain and fever, you have to go back to your surgeon.

:)

Hehe, I know what you mean. I suggest covering it back over and forgetting about it until you absolutely have to deal with it!

:D

Yes it does not look red or inflamed to me...but if it does leak or you do get a fever..Go quickly to the ER...

Other then that stop stretching it and it will not hurt so much....We get a little energy and then were off doing too much! :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
