I start my pre op diet tomorrow and they are expecting me to lose 30-40lbs before surgery! I'm nervous and excited about my pre op diet. I work in a group home taking care of MRDD adults and do a lot of cooking. I also cook for my boyfriend at home. I'm worried about cooking for them and not being able to eat any of it during the preop. Anyone have any tricks or tips for helping to not stray? Also are there any 20-25 pre sleevers/sleevers? I haven't found a whole lot of info on people my age (22) getting the surgery and their journey. Hope everyone is doing great! You all are looking more and more gorgeous everyday! Love following you all!

Awesome! Please keep in touch and let me know how you are doing! I've lost 8 lbs on the preop diet already. It's definitely been difficult.

Hello im 29 I had my sleeve on may 2nd. I was on liquid diet for 30 days because I was over weight for surgery. I also had to cook for my husband. It was very difficult. But my mind was on having my surgery. Cheating wasn't worth my being over weight forever. I lost 47 lbs on pre OP diet! Good luck you can do it

Hi, I had a lap band placed in April/2008. I am scheduled for a lap band removal and a gastric sleeve on June 3rd. I am excited... I know that this will be the tool to help me loose weight finally. My doc didn't put me on a pre-op diet. He just told me to have only liquids the day before and nothing after mid nite. I am 40... And I've been battling obesity for the last 10-12 years. There is so much going through my mind.. Like, how will I look after I loose weight? How will my body look? I'm not worried that I won't loose weight.. I'm pretty confident, but I'm worried about complications, not loosing enough, how I will start to look.... Sounds silly, huh?

I understand completely, Resi. I'm only really worried about not losing enough or regaining. Also hugely on what I'm going to look like because I have been overweight my whole life. I'm excited to experience a bunch of firsts. Unlike some people who used to be skinny earlier in life I have never had that. Plus everyone who has ever known me has always known me as being big.

I'm June 9th as well. I wish I had done this in my 20's! I have to do a 14 day pre op diet. Good luck!

Thanks! I get a lot of comments from my nutritionists who are so happy that I am doing this surgery so young.

I'm brand new on here, but I'm pretty excited to find others getting sleeved on June 9th! I just turned 30, and I have been overweight my entire adult life. After countless diets and gains, I just finally decided that it was time to take the bull by the horns and go all in. So far in my pre-op diet I've lost 34 pounds. My eventual goal weight is 180 (currently at 298). I'm ready to get this show on the road! I love to hear about how all of you other June 9th peeps are doing!

I've been big my entire life as well.... I agree no one understands that we've never been able to the simple stuff like the slim take for granted everyday. I'm glad I'm in my way.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
