May 5th.. Any surgery twins? Some concerns

Hello! My surgery was this past Monday May 5th and Tomorrow will be 6 days post op. I was feeling great until about Thursday I developed a migraine and since have had a lingering headache and a lot of dizziness and just feeling like crap. I wondered if that was normal? Also today I had some gas come back into my shoulder which I haven't had since day 2. Just a little alarming.

Sorry to hear about the headaches. It must be very common. I mean you have look at it this way, we are eating 75% less if what we were. Our bodies are in shock. I seem to notice they come around when I'm not drinking enough or getting enough nutrition. Sip sip sip all day long to get your fluids in. And same here I was taking my meds only for the head pain. No surgical site pain just Pressure from the gas still. I stopped the Tylenol with codeine last night and got some children's Tylenol for the headache. I have been leaning off of the T3 and I think I may have been withdrawing headaches. I hate the way the narcotics make me feel. So far today no headache feeling pretty good without the pain meds. No I wasn't a huge caffeine soda drinker only sometimes.

I also am having problems drinking. I am so thirsty and know I'm probably dehydrated but everytime I drink it hurts. Doesn't matter what it is my stomach gets air bubbles and gurgles after every sip. I'm really getting frustrated because all I want to do is gulp liquids down but my stomach is refusing to let me. Is this normal and common with other sleevers?

I had my surgery on May 7th and most of the time when I drink anything I get a sharp pain followed by LOUD gurgling.. What the hell is it??

I also had my surgery May 5, 2014

I'm feeling like crap and I'm having trouble drinking the protein shakes. The pain from the surgery is almost gone except for a few twinges which is great.

I also have a headache which many people are blaming on the anesthesia.

Anyone else having or had trouble keeping the shakes in? If so please share your secret of getting through this.

One thing that helps with the discomfort of drinking and eating is the temperature. The only thing cold my stomach will tolerate is Popsicles. Everything else I want has to be room temperature. It helps a lot getting fluids in without the miserable gas and pain in sternum. The protein shakes there is no way you will get the amount your told to in each day. Get as much as you can but don't over do it. Try the Adkins shakes without blending them frozen just plain see if that makes a difference. I can't even eat jello or water if it is chilled. Only room temperature. Hope this helps!

I just discovered that last night and have had smooth sailing today FINALLY!!! Yay

I had my surgery on March 3rd and I had terrible headaches for about 2 weeks. I think it had something to do with coming off caffeine pretty much cold turkey, hydration, and basically just going through a major surgery. They went away in the 3rd week, but they were very tough at first.

I am having the same gurgling. And with the diarrhea I'm afraid to go to far from the bathroom. I already had a wild experience. I got out of the hospital on Tuesday and I kept telling myself I needed to make sure to dispose of the pre op liquid diet sugar full Jello because I was afraid I would mix them up......well guess what my hubbies made me sugar free jello the day I got home and I was really enjoying the taste, ask day. Then about 10pm Tuesday night I got super duper cramps, sweating, palpitations and couldn't make it to the bathroom in time. Oh my God what a mess and I felt horrible. After 3 hours in the bathroom and scrubbing everything in my path, it stopped. Lying in bed I remembered about the dumping syndrome. Then I asked my hubbie what bowl he made the sugar free jello in and it was NOT the one I was eating out of....my first mistake. This is defiantly a learning experience.

Good to know! Lesson learned here too. Thanks!
