I have some numbness around my incision sites too. In assuming once it heals we will get some sensation back! :)

I need help with Protein. I've become lactose intolerant and whey protein won't work for me. I've tried 4 different shakes and even the lactose free ones make me seriously ill. Has anyone tried the Isopure drinks? Are they the thick like the shakes? I've been getting in 35-45g without shakes, but I know I need more.

Any advice?

@@wagnlo - Isopure are good for not feeling full but they are made of whey Protein so they probably won't help until a few months down the road.

I've tried every form of protein. I'm still only getting 30g-40g a day (12 days post surgery) so I'm not much help. When I can eat food, I know it will be much better.

They sell isopure zero carb which the bottles have 40g protein and come in variety of fruity flavors. I mix mine with tea/ sf lemonade

I hate those Isopure drinks. I haven't found a way it mix them to hide the nastiness. Any suggestions?

Maybe I'll go to GNC and grab one just to try. What's a good flavor to start with?

Today is 3 weeks for me! I'm down 23 pounds from my high weight and 14.8 from surgery. Not quite as fast as some of you, but I've had a loss every week so far and I'm going to stay encouraged by that! Other than being lactose intolerant now, I've been very lucky with food in general. Nothing really makes me ill and I haven't thrown up yet. :) I'm finally getting in all of my Vitamins and most of my fluids every day. Protein is still a struggle, but I'm sure that will get up there soon.

Hi May buddies!!! We made to the other side of the losers bench. Congratulations.

My surgery was May 5 and I came home yesterday. I still have quite a bit of gas inside, but that's making it's out and I'm pretty sore where the incisions are.

My question is....is anyone exhausted? I seem to be able to stay a wake for maybe an hour and then I have to lie down. It's not giving me a whole lotta time to get all my food, Water and Vitamins in. Any suggesstions?

[/QUO

Yes I'm very tired too, I'm anemic and I'm taking extra Iron. My surgery was on May 5th also. I'm beginning to feel better, but haven't been able to do very hard exercise. Hopefully it will improve.

All of the flavors taste the same to me. The smell of them now slightly sickens me, lol. I know, totally not helpful. However, I can definitely see them as an asset when I'm "back to normal." I really like the grape one. The blue one tastes pretty okay as well.

Almost 4 weeks post-op, last week I started having a terrible, burning pain in my abdomen left of my belly button that radiates to my back below my ribs on the left side. I saw the surgeon today, he sent me for a CT to rule out a hernia and other possible problems. The CT didn't indicate anything wrong, no explanation for this pain, but they did say there's air in my 'old' stomach but said 'it could be something, it might not be.'

Not very reassuring...anyone else experience air in their old stomach??

I hope you're okay! I haven't had anything like this (yet). I hate it when doctors can't figure out what's wrong and they give you some awful answer that just makes you worry more.

Hopefully, they will figure it out or it will pass soon. You are in my thoughts!

I'm am now 15 days post op and doing great! I went to see my nutritionist today. I have advanced to my puréed stage. I know ever doctor is different, but I can have turkey (including turkey bacon which I love), low fat cheese, and lean meats. I picked up some turkey meatballs and I can have that with marinara sauce. I also can do lean hot dogs. I can have the grilled chicken nuggets from chick- fil- a as well. I feel so much better with being able to eat different foods!!! I saw a girl today that had gastric bypass on May 20th of 2013 and has lost 130! She looks amazing!!! Ahh love the support and encouragement!!

@@wagnlo - Like I said, I hold my nose and choke it down, lol. I have all these drinks and it's easier to drink Isopure than the creamy stuff at the moment. I'll take what I can get, protein-wise.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
