I agree! One word of caution, though...make SURE you are getting the "carb conscious" version. They look identical, except the carb conscious version says that in silver at the top of the bar. The regular one has SO MUCH SUGAR in it, you will gain, gain, gain if you eat them as much as I do!

I was so disappointed. The guy at The Vitamin Shoppe ordered the wrong product for me, so I STILL don't have the new flavor! I've been trying to get my hands on one for two weeks now! ARGH!

Hey Junies! Hope everyone is well. I haven't been on here much -- I'm in the middle of moving and things have been a little crazy. Nothing new to report, just wanted to say hi and see how everyone is doing.

Hey all thanks for the thoughts! Thanks goodness I did NOT have a slip - I was just too tight. No clue why it tightened up after being at the perfect spot for 3 months and losing weight. It has to have something to do with moving, new town, and stress, but I really thought it would loosen up on its own.

Symptoms: slime and PB with any solid food, no matter how well I chewed. I couldn't even drink anything without feeling it - no pain most of the time, but definitely could feel it moving slow. Then I started refluxing on liquids, so I knew it was time to get to the doc. It really started when I got to Nashville, so I haven't been able to eat a real meal since Dec 3rd or so. I couldn't eat anything for breakfast or lunch and then sometimes I could get Soup in for dinner.< /p>

I had 7cc in my 10cc AP band, he looked with the full amount in, liquid went through very slow and then would stop in the pouch and reflux up - so cool to be able to see what I have been feeling for a month. He took 1cc out and everything went right through, so he put .4cc back in, that showed the slow movement without reflux that he wanted to see. So I am on liquids for the next couple of days and try to progress to solid Proteins again.

I hope to get back on track with weight loss again, I haven't lost much through all this. I am SOO close to onederland I can taste it! :tt1:

SUZZIE - I know you can get back on track, but it sounds like you definitely need a fill. I have to say I would love a piece of pizza - that new Pizza Hut crunchy cheese crust looks really good! course anything solid looks good to me right now.

Steph - I think only you could get that excited about a Protein bar!

I think to get my last 60lbs off I am going to have to get to the gym! Could you come kick my butt?

Missy---glad you're under control now. I know what you mean about being close to onederland...I'm at 205 and it seems like I can't get past it.....

Step isn't the only one that LUUUUVS the Protein bar....I'm telling you---if you haven't tried it....YOU MUST DO IT TODAY!!!!!!

I tried Zumba last night. (found a class at the local recreation center). I was a good aerobic workout, but it seemed as though the lady was making it up as she went. She had a thick accent and I could barely understand her--so I spent an hour looking at her feet and doing what she did. Thankfully, I have some natual rhythm---so I was able to keep up.

I think that I will try a class in Ovilla (about 15 minutes away)...if it's not any better, I'll keep doing what I've been doing.

I just noticed I am no longer MORBIDLY obese, now I am just Extremely Obese - I am not sure that sounds any better, but I will take it!

bigbaby - we will have a race :-) I am at 210.4 this morning, I hope my liquid diet and cutting out the sugar will get me going again. It is amazing how well chocolate goes down even when you are too tight. I found out whoppers worked - love the new Reeses ones! But no more excuses of needing some calories!

Missy, glad to hear it wasn't a slip! And yes, I do love me some Supreme Protein Bars. And until you try them, you will never understand...they are AWESOME! No other Protein Bar even remotely compares! Now if I could just get my hands on that new Peanut Butter flavor, I could stop obsessing! LOL

Hey, as far as getting to the gym, you are right. That is exactly what it will take! Keep at it for a solid week and you will start liking it...two weeks and you'll be hooked. If not, there will be one butt kicking coming your way, girl! LOL (All in love, of course!)

Okay, I had another Ambien episode last night. When I got up this morning, I noticed there were dirty dishes on the end table in the living room...very odd. Then I saw the honey mustard on the plate and remembered what happened...vaguely. What is it about Ambien that makes me eat? I only have pieces and parts of recollection about eating four turkey meatballs with honey mustard last night. I must not have been chewing well, because I think I PB-ed the entire portion right back up...I have vague memory of standing at the sink being very sick. How gross. What the hell is wrong with me? It doesn't always do this...I take Ambien all the time. But once in a while, it's like I am sleepwalking or sleepeating with very little memory, if any at all.

It's been such an effed-up week.

Don't know if you like to work out at home but there are Zumba videos. I enjoy them. No harsh accents either.

I need a good kick in the butt. I went to get my wound checked and it is finally healing. New port in 6 weeks. I can't wait. In the meantime my head is telling me I'm hungry and I can't stop eating. I know this is in my mind because I didn't have fill before they removed the port and I was losing. Now I gained. It was only a couple of pounds but boy did it wake me up. I worked very hard to loose weight and I don't want to get into bad habits. I need to stop eating between meals and eat better meals (especially breakfast). I can't seem to find anything I like. I'm going to look for that Protein bar. I also need to work out more. I find so many excuses why I can't and I just need to do it.

Ok I feel better. I'm going to get back on track on move forward not backwards.

Where do you find the Supreme Protein bars? They sound too good not to try them!

Missy, so glad it was not a slip. The same thing has happened to me three times. I only had to have a de-fill once. I have tried to figure out what caused it and I "think" it may have been a combination of cold things (drinks ice-cold, ice cream) and job stress at the same time. You are fortunate your doc put most of the fill back in as I had to go two weeks with no fill and that was not fun. Best wishes.

Stef - Those Ambien episodes sound downright scary! Have you tried taking just half a dose to see if still works but you don't have sleepwalking/eating?

My company's Annual Business Meeting is coming up in three weeks and I had to buy an evening dress for the banquet. I was very excited to find a 16W that looks pretty good (with Spanx)! I will see people from other parts of the country that haven't seen me since I lost 70# - I think it will be fun.

Have a nice weekend, everyone.

Marlena

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
