Still here Suzzz! Waded through my last customer quilt...had 21 to start and was scared I wouldn't be able to do it but I did!! First day off, I spent taping out and painting all the moldings in my upstairs. All the doors to the kid's rooms, baths, etc. What a job! Then I did a door downstairs and realized I'd been using the wrong paint...an exterior flat. Ugh. Hubby was nice and painted over them today. I would have but I got hammered with a head cold...and I'm SHARING!! Achoooo! So my computer was out of commission for 2 days while I painted...and I'm out of commission now. I'm getting great restriction though so can't whine about that. Nothing showing on the scales yet though, but I'm hoping for a big ol' whoooosh!

So, should I bake any holiday treats? Hmmm..........what are you all doing? I do have company coming.........and kids......and I do want that one little Nanaimo bar! ;)

Yes, Waht is a nanaimo bar? Is it GOOOOOOOOOOOD?!!?

Today I'm making a lil snack dessert I learned about back when I did WW. Only 1 point each - which I could eat a million of. Haha. I don't know what they are called, but you take a bag of small pretzels, a bag of ROlo candys, and a bag of pecan halves. You place a Rolo on top of each pretzel, then put them into the oven for like 2-3 minutes - just enough to make the Rolo mushy - not melted! Then you stick 1/2 of a half pecan intp the top of each mushy ROlo. Let cool. They are kinda lik a 'turtle' with pretzel... you know, with the chocolate, caramel, and pecan. Anyway.... good yummy things. My whole family loves them. Wosrt part is unwrapping each lil ROlo and trying to not eatthem. Ha!!

AND RHONDA!! You're quilts are freaking gorgeous!! WHen I get to my goal weight could you give me one for free? Lol. OkOK... I had to try. Seriously, they are awesome!

nvalicia - how do you eat beef jerkey?!? I have trouble with steak unless it is SUPER tender. I love beef jerkey but I figured if I couldn't get steak down then I'd be crazy to try it.

Bigbaby!!!! You look great!!!! Your tummy rolls have disappeared!!! Woohoo!!

I make sure that the Jerky is pretty tender and I chew it really good. I can eat shredded beef also but I haven't tried a steak yet.

O2B--when you mail Suzzies---mail me some too!!!! LOL--they look GREAT!!!!

Your quilts are awesome...Ihave some of my grandmother's quilts. She would do the tops and then take them to the country and have her sisters put the backing on them. I love looking at them because they all contain bits of various dresses that she use to wear. (Back then the quilts weren't as pretty with fabulous designs)

Your quilts are beautiful! I wish my studio was as neat and organized as yours is!

I work for myself, but I'm looking to go back to working for a company again. I went out on my own to be independent, but now instead of having one no boss, I have 5-10 bosses: all my clients! I'm tired of dealing with all of them -- so I'm going back to a "real" job. No more working in my pajamas ;)

WOW O2B!! Those quilts are incredible!! Some of them look more like paintings than quilts! Do you do the piecing or the quilting or both? Where do you come up with such extravagant patterns? VERY talented!

Merry Christmas everyone!!!

You all have been busy. I have been reading posts and sorry for not being to good posting. life has been crazy at work and trying to finish everything up before I was on leave for 7 days. Suzzie, I don't know how your coworker did it, an entire month. The most I ever took off at once was 2 weeks. This time of the year is great to be a government employee for you get a lot of holidays and only have to use less of your own earned leave.

I am sorry for some of your work experiences. I have to say for most of my career I have been blessed with great leaders that assisted me in what I am today. I am a Director of a Department of 35 and I know I don't make everyone happy all the time, but I beleive I am fair, honest and for the most part a good person to work for. I hope I don't come off self involved, I know there are those few I p__ off!

GREAT weight loss to all of you! I have not been back to post pictures. My hubby is to busy too to help. Maybe after the holidays. To be honest the only real before shot is at the doc's. I go there on Jan 8, I will ask for it.

At this time I am caring for my 2 year old grandaugther. she is enjoying all her toys I have in our basement. My only grandchild. I am only 48! I don't know how I would do it if I was 58! In this way only am I glad my son and his wife had a child already:clap2: Christmas will be fun this year with her opening her gifts, she still is not sure about Santa yet.

I have been having a lot of restriction with real food. it is all very strange. I had drinks and an appetizer on Friday after a day of not being able to eat at all. then it was fine! she is my gym buddy. I told her after the holidays I will be back for sure. The scale is not moving at all, but I am holding my own. I can eat Christmas Cookies with out a problem!!

Suzzie, take the compliments! I don't know why it is so hard and you feel uncomfortable when someone says you look good or you are doing great. You should be able to say, " Thank you" and walk away with a smile!

Merry Christmas to all of you!!! Enjoy your time with your family! I will be checking in.

God Bless.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
