My DVR didn't record this episode either. It's a shame we can't watch it online.

I wondered what the gloving up was all about, yikes. Funny to picture the interviews before the show, "now, who here feels comfortable handling a human stomach specimen on national television?" No wonder they all looked so freaked out!

As for the forty pounds, when I went to my six-month checkin with the LB program coordinator at the hospital she said that I have nearly reached the goal set by my surgeon. This was the first I had heard of this goal. My own goal is 148, one hundred pounds down from the 248 that I started with. Turns out they use statistics to predict a goal of their own. Well, I now look forward to exceeding that goal because I have no intention of stopping at 190. And that's ten pounds or so away as it is. Maybe my 148 is too ambitious -- I won't know until I'm getting closer.

Hopefully this is giving me just the grit and determination I need for getting off this next chunk. No complacency even if the surgeon might indicate "mission accomplished." Just bringing this up on this thread because of the whole forty pounds to lose focus on the Dr. Oz show. Many of those women would probably like to lose a lot more than that. We'll take what we can get but why stop there?

Thanks for the link, @@Alex Brecher -- don't have TV so would have missed this.

Dr. George Fielding is awesome...He was my surgeon for gastric bypass and when I was in the hospital for 4 days, he would come and visit me every day and then his team would come every day...very very impressed by him. Even before my surgery, he met with my brother and answered all his questions. I recommend him to everyone out there..he truly is a great guy!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
