I'm not very far out (almost four months) but I haven't noticed any more hair loss than when I was pre-opt. Hopefully it'll remain that way. Anyhow, I take my chewable multi-Vitamin four times a day, 500mg of Calcium (Peanut Butter flavor). I also try to eat a lot of Protein (quinoa with saute'd tomatoes and zucchini is my favorite) and lots of veggies.

My nut recommended Biotin, but honestly, I haven't been taking it because I also take Vitamin D, B - 12 and another medication and it's overwhelming

I started losing my hair at four mos out. Almost six now and still losing it. I'm surprised I'm not bald yet. I use biotin and protien shampoo and conditioner

I've been losing my hair. (Not my gray's though-they're doing fine!)

7 months out and virtually no hair loss at all. Lucky , I guess.

I guess at 5 mos. I was shedding a bit more than usual, but nothing like folks have described hair loss. I started making sure I was getting more protein and I began taking Evening of Primrose Oil (really for my peiod issues, but it did help the hair too). Haven't had a prob since.

Janetprn what vitamins are you taking?

Slick chic where do buy evening of primrose oil? I have never heard of that. As far as the periods does it help with heavy flow or cramps?

You get it in the vitamin section of any store. I usually shop at Wally World, But where ever supplements are sold, it can be found. It's great for cramps. It isn't a pain reliever, but a supplement. I take it daily and it helps with the painful, moody, etc. of a period. I get migraines, cramping, etc. and this really lessens things for me. Wish ya luck!

I take Biotin capsules 1000 mcg from Walgreen's, and 4 gummy Multivitamins daily, that's it.The bariatric vitamins gagged me so I used them crushed in applesauce for the first 3 or 4 weeks only.

I was lapband from 2005-2014 and had no hair loss, I was revised to sleeve 4/9/2014 and so far no hair loss..i have been taking biotin 7500 mcg since 2005 and my hair and nails are healthy...I believe the highest dosage is 10,000 mcg

I wonder if hair loss has to do with the amount of weight you're losing. Is it the more you lose the more hair loss?

DIdn't lose any hair with either my lapband in 2009 or my sleeve, 9 mths ago. I didn't use any hair products, and I just took my multivit. No secret, guess I just got lucky...

Good luck to u

4 months and a week out no hair loss yet. I think juicing has helped me. We will see a few months from now.

My surgeon says it's based on meeting your protein goals immediately after surgery......
