I had my Tummy Tuck!

Recommended Posts

My Tummy Tuck was completed on Thursday and I feel great! I had very little pain and was up and moving in no time. I was able to shower on Saturday and remove the bandages, and I cried when I saw my stomach. I am so glad I had this done, and I would choose to do it over and over again if it would go as well as it did this time. There is still some swelling and I still have my drains in, but neither are too bothersome for me right now. I go back on Thursday afternoon for my week follow-up, so I hope to get some good news then! For anyone thinking about having it done, I HIGHLY recommend it!

I'm glad to hear you are doing so well! Congrats! I've heard stories, both good and bad. I'm hoping to do mine next year. I've lost all the weight I can lose for the most part - I'm only four pounds away from my wedding day weight of 115! I get five weeks vacation on Jan 1 so I'm aiming to have it done then. :-)

Congrats on your surgery! This is so exciting! Can I ask what Doctor you used? I've been contemplating this and went to a couple of consultations but haven't taken it any further. If possible can you please send me a message with some of the details. Congrats on your fabulous weight loss and new life!!

was it covered by your insurance or did you have to pay out of pocket? That's my fear... I cannot afford to have it done if insurance won't cover it...

I saw my dr last week and he told me no plastics until I am at least 18 months out from surgery so things have time to stabilize. Bummer :( I hate the wrinkly flabby stuff.

EV1988, I am very happy for you. I wish you a speedy recovery. How about some pics?

Thank you for all of the kind words! I am about 26 months out from lap band surgery and was down about 155 lbs total from when I started. My lapband surgeon is actually the surgeon that did my Tummy Tuck, and he charged me about half of what other plastic surgeons were asking for. He does not advertise as a plastic surgeon because he only does abdominoplasties on his own lapband patients. Unfortunately I had to pay out of pocket because I got sick of waiting to meet the criteria for insurance. Mostly I was ready to have it done and it was worth a few thousand dollars to me to have it taken care of.

I have attached a couple of pictures. They aren't the best quality but they give you an idea of what it was like before and after. The before was taken right before I left for the hospital and the after was taken less than 48 hours later. I am very happy with the results so far!

Woe! You look amazing. Did they take out all of the Fluid in your band for the surgery? Just eondering because I went to a consult and they said it had to all be taken out and no fills for 6 weeks? Thx for your help!

I am about 2/3 through on my weight loss and will definitely be needing some "work done" especially with the belly/pouch.

Thank you for sharing pics too…as nice as it is to hear/read the experience it is nice to see the final product too!

Wishing you continued success in all you do! :D

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
