Did anyone have a reaction to the tape used when they dressed your incision?

I think the tape gave me a rash! But wouldn't i have had a reaction earlier? I'm 9 days post op but I'm still finding tape residue. And now the section that was covered in tape near my drain seems to be rashed. Or atleast I hope it's a rash and not anything else!!!

Yes, I had the same thing on one of my incisions because I had a drain, and had to retape every day for the first week. But I'm 11 days post now, and it is finally gone. I had to really wash with antibacterial soap!

I am 3 days post op and have a rash above my incisions are. I figured they used something there, but don't know what it was as there is no tape residue. It really itches and I worry I'm going to accidentally itch my incision.

I had a similar reaction and surgery was on April 8th. Tiny blisters, rash. DO NOT USE ACETONE ON THE SKIN. I used baby oil and a cotton ball. MUCH gentler to your tender skin. Incisions still itch like crazy but I assume that means it's healing.

I had a small rash, and used hydrocortisone cream. On the rash, only, not on incision itself.

Thanks for the input ladies. I have some liquid coconut oil and used that. The skin was so sensitive and weird feeling and itchy!! It feels alot better now.

Thanks again.

I had a reaction as well-little blisters. I think the tape reacted to the glue used after staples removed.

Yeah I had little blisters also and like a rash. My skin is still healing from it. It is in the shape of a rectangle around my drain scar. I am going to put coconut oil on it. *stupid tape*

I have a rash too

my skin was so sensitive that i let the tape residue sit for a while instead of scrubbing it off...bad idea! if u can, try and get the adhesive residue off as soon as possible.
