Cigna OAP require 3 or 6 month for approval

Recommended Posts

I have Cigna OAP. I just got my approval on Wednesday. It only took 48 hours. I hope it goes quick for you once the gal gets your stuff together. Lol good luck!

Overall, I have to say that CIGNA was very good about approving me quickly and not jerking me around when paying the bills.

Call Cigna! They will let you know where your claim stands. If I hadn't of called, I probably wouldn't have gotten my first reconsideration done in time.

I got denied from cigna back in January because my 3 months of diet wasn't up to their standards so I went to an actual Diet doctor that works with biartric patients and insurance..finished my 3 months with them and resummitted to cigna last week. Just got a call from Dr that Cigna wants to set up a peer to peer because of denial in January. Im so scared I will be denied AGAIN!! I have completed everything Cigna requires except they weren't happy last time with the diet classes. How long after peer to peer where you approved? Did it take long time to schedule peer to peer? Ive been at this for 6 months and am so ready to start my weight loss journey!

I am officially approved for surgery this Tuesday! My surgeon's office had a peer to peer review and went over paperwork. My PCP had recomended surgery in January, so Cigna used that release and recomendation as a start date for my supervised diet...so I got the 89 days. It is now very real!

After the Peer to Peer it was pretty quick. They did it with my Surgeon's assistant and I was approved the next day

It's where your doctor speaks with Cigna's doctor

I've got Cigna OAP and when I called them directly, they told me 90 days diet. I go to my last weigh in on day 96 just in case they don't know how to count correctly. I am getting all of my clearances this week and I've done all of my tests and labs already.

I'm curious how long Cigna will take to approve or deny? My surgeons office thinks that it will be approved quickly and have already made my pre-op appt. I hope and pray it works out that way!

Ive always heard back from Cigna within a week...both all 3 times denied! :( I've read a lot of post that they are super picky and nobody at Cigna could ever give me clear answers when questioned. Good luck to you and I hope my peer to peer meeting with finally get my approval!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
